Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Events & Industry Strategy will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the events portfolio for CVS Media Exchange (CMX) in order to elevate CMX’s presence as a thought leader within the retail media landscape. This role goes beyond execution to shape how CMX shows up in-market, identify whitespace opportunities, and ensure every event drives measurable brand and commercial impact. Managing and growing strong, collaborative relationships with partners across the organization (both up and down levels) and leading cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and execution of strategy.
As a Senior Manager with CMX, you are passionate about details and relationships. You play a critical role in how CVS Media Exchange is presented to advertisers, vendors, prospects, and other partners within the industry. The Senior Manager is expected to own the end-to-end events ecosystem, including strategy, calendar development, content creation, sales enablement, and cross-channel amplification, as well as internal CMX team events, in alignment with our go-to-market strategy. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, strong organization, relationship management, and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
You are deeply familiar with retail media brand strategy and positioning and seek to differentiate CMX in this encumbered industry. You do this by contributing to the strategic marketing brief, the framework and foundation for event marketing initiatives or campaigns and are responsible for the tactical marketing brief. Leading execution of all project deliverables including, but not limited to, brief development, collaboration with presenters on speaking deliverables and Corp Comm review, collaboration with creative on development of materials and Legal review, collaboration with industry and third party exhibit vendors to bring the CMX presence to life.

The Senior Manager, Events & Industry Marketing role will:
- Own strategy, development, and execution of the CMX annual events calendar, aligning all activations to go-to-market priorities and business objectives
- Serve as an industry expert in retail media, proactively identifying whitespace opportunities, conducting competitive assessments, and benchmarking against key players to inform event strategy and positioning
- Act as the main point of contact for external industry and media partners, demonstrating best-in-class client service and building a network of relationships across the retail media, advertising and brand marketing eco system
- Lead all facets of external and CMX team event production and management, including budget, timeline, procurement, billing, design, travel, and other necessary components
- Support preparation and coordination of CMX presenters, including scripts, visual collateral, and day-of timeline
- Own and evolve all sales enablement deliverables tied to events, ensuring sales teams are equipped with compelling materials to drive pipeline
- Deliver post-event analysis, including performance recaps, insights, and recommendations to optimize future activations and demonstrate ROI
- Partners cross-functionally and across the enterprise, specifically with Corporate Communications and Legal, to achieve shared goals
- Manage resolution of all post-program deliverables (e.g., billing) and create program recaps for internal knowledge sharing and future optimization
- Proactively self-educate around CPG, retail, and retail media industry trends to identify best practice opportunities for CMX to provide thought leadership within the industry
This role is hybrid. You must work in one of our Corporate Hubs 2 or more days a week: Wellesley, MA, Woonsocket, RI, or New York, NY.
Required Qualifications
7+ years previous work experience in Event Management, Communications, Retail Marketing, Media, or related field

- Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- e-retail, e-commerce, or experience in a retail media network is a plus
- Up to 50% travel may be required
Education
Bachelor’s degree (Preferred in Business, Marketing, Strategic Communications, or related field) OR equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years of experience) required
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $199,144.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
