Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Manager, Actuarial to join our Actuarial team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

You will be a critical partner to Market P&L, Insurance Product, and other analytic support responsibilities for consultation of regional specific pricing, network and product strategy. You will support development of national strategy. You will also own the end-to-end regulatory submission, will understand risks underlying their markets, and are responsible to ensure pricing is actuarially sound.

You will report into the Director, Actuarial.

  • Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders to guide strategic business decisions with respect to rates.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of key financial risks and opportunities within each of your markets and more broadly across ACA -- and apply those learnings to guide analytical pricing, prospective pricing strategy, SAE considerations, network strategy, and other unique mitigation strategies.
  • Provide an actuarial viewpoint across cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable growth for Oscar's ACA Individual Markets.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide pricing analysts with regular feedback.
  • Promote and shape Oscar actuarial best practices with respect to automation and documentation.
