The Role
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing, consolidating, and analyzing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, Direct Cash Flow financials, and supporting key strategic initiatives. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and long-term strategic plans. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving, as well as building meaningful story and presenting it to CCA and GMNA finance leadership.

The Role

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving, as well as building meaningful story and presenting it to CCA and GMNA finance leadership.
What You'll Do
1. Month-End Processes, Consolidation, & Reporting:
- Collaborate with the accounting team during month-end closings to ensure financial accuracy and identify key trends in accrual changes and reserves.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including P&L statements, and focusing on volume, mix, price, and cost drivers.
- Deliver monthly performance reports and variance analyses with a focus on driving profitability and addressing deviations from projections.
- Consolidating risks and opportunities, and coordinate with CCA financial analysts for monthly forecasting processes.
- Coordinate with the cross-functional teams and utilize GM financial systems for direct cash flow forecast submission to treasury.
2. Budget, Long-Term Planning (LTP), and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting and long-term plans process, ensuring alignment across multiple business lines and global functions.
- Coordinate budget and LTP load into GM financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Consolidate the LTP financials and prepare financial decks with key metrics for leadership review.
3. Support Ad Hoc studies and Benchmark analysis
- Conduct benchmarking analysis on non-GM companies to identify industry trends and establish revenue and profitability objectives.
- Annual calculation of CCA adjacencies profitability. Collaborate with Planning and strategy team to derive $/VIO data from dealer management system to future years $/vehicle CCA revenue and EBIT
- Support special projects, including deep dives into warranty reserves, country of sales adjustments, profit in inventory, annual lifecycle profitability adjacencies study, and other GMNA profit and loss statement related.
4. Process Improvement & Additional Activities:
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline forecasting and reporting process.
- Drive automation initiatives to enhance data collection and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for profitability improvements.
- Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated business acumen with extensive experience in:
- Financial forecasting and business planning.
- Performance reporting, variance analysis, and business case development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
- Strong leadership and influence skills, with a proactive approach to driving results and process improvements.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to deliver compelling leadership presentations.
- Ability to self-manage priorities, adapt to changing demands, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Commitment to GM's core cultural values, with a proven track record of building strong relationships and fostering trust across cross-functional teams.
- What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Proficiency in SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, Knime and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint.
