Position Overview

The Senior Director, Strategic Product Solutions, will own solution strategy and value stream alignment for an assigned portfolio within the ME&T Product organization. This role acts as the senior subject-matter authority on portfolio strategy, market landscape, and industry trends — defining solution scope, sequencing, and investment priorities, and building the long-term vision, business cases, and ROI models that guide where Zelis invests next. The role partners in a matrixed model across Product Management & Delivery, Product Operations, Strategy, Commercialization, and external stakeholders to shape and deliver high-impact solutions for members, clients, and the business.

About the Team

Strategic Product Solutions is one of three core functions within the ME&T Product organization, alongside Product Management & Delivery and Product Operations, Readiness & Optimization. This function defines the strategy of what we build and why — aligning product investments to market opportunities, customer needs, and enterprise strategy, and translating that strategy into roadmap direction in close partnership with Product Management & Delivery.


Job Summary

The Senior Director, Strategic Product Solutions, will own solution strategy and value stream alignment for an assigned portfolio within the ME&T Product organization. This role acts as the senior subject-matter authority on portfolio strategy, market landscape, and industry trends — defining solution scope, sequencing, and investment priorities, and building the long-term vision, business cases, and ROI models that guide where Zelis invests next. The role partners in a matrixed model across Product Management & Delivery, Product Operations, Strategy, Commercialization, and external stakeholders to shape and deliver high-impact solutions for members, clients, and the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own value stream and product solution strategy alignment across the assigned product portfolio.
  • Partner in a matrixed model across aligned product portfolios and value streams.
  • Act as subject-matter expert for the aligned portfolio, market landscape, and industry trends.
  • Define solution scope, sequencing, and investment priorities.
  • Develop long-term product strategy, business cases, and ROI models.
  • Support pricing, positioning, commercialization, contracting, and pre-sales activities.
  • Partner with external stakeholders, industry groups, and strategic partners.
  • Leverage customer, competitive, and market insights to shape solution strategy and priorities.
  • Identify strategic partnerships and external growth opportunities.
  • Translate strategy into epics and roadmap direction in partnership with Product Management & Delivery.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, or a related strategic role, ideally within healthcare technology, payments, or a related industry.
  • 3+ years of experience leading strategy for a product portfolio or value stream, including business case development and investment prioritization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term strategy, ROI models, and business cases that inform executive investment decisions.
  • Strong track record partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Commercialization, and Delivery teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Deep understanding of market landscape and industry trends relevant to the assigned portfolio.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging external partners and industry groups.
  • Experience translating strategy into actionable roadmap direction in partnership with delivery-focused product teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  • A clearly defined and prioritized solution strategy for the assigned portfolio, grounded in market and customer insight.
  • Strong alignment between strategy and execution, with roadmap direction that reflects strategic priorities.
  • Trusted senior partnership across Sales, Finance, Commercialization, and Product Management & Delivery.
  • New strategic partnerships or growth opportunities identified and advanced.

  • Requires proficiency using AI tools skillfully with an understanding of how to develop/create intelligent prompts and/or agents.
  • Industry-recognized expertise in product strategy.
  • Experience influencing enterprise decisions and direction.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

Zelis is headquartered in the U.S., with multiple locations across the country and in Hyderabad, India. Check out our locations to learn more about our offices. All employee work locations are based on the needs of the position and are determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities vary based on work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.


While location expectations vary by role, candidates within approximately 50 miles of a U.S. office are generally preferred to support collaboration when needed. Our hybrid approach is flexible, and in-office presence is guided by team and business needs rather than a fixed weekly schedule.

Base Salary Range

$185,000.00 - $234,650.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
