About SimpliSafe

At SimpliSafe, our mission is simple: Make every home secure.

We believe safety should be accessible, intelligent, and effortless. Over the last decade, we have redefined home security with innovative hardware, professional monitoring, and a customer-first approach. As we scale our subscription business, driving engagement, retention, and recurring revenue growth is central to our long-term success.

We’re embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home. Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our state-of-the-art office on two core days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday – working together in person and choosing where they work for the remainder of the week. We all benefit from flexibility and get to use the best of both worlds to get our work done.

Why are we hiring?

Well, we’re growing and thriving. So, we need smart, talented, and humble people who share our values to join us as we disrupt the home security space and relentlessly pursue our mission of keeping Every Home Secure.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Product to lead Revenue & Retention — the function responsible for expanding subscriber lifetime value through integrated product and customer marketing strategies that drive engagement, monetization, and churn reduction across the current 12-month horizon.

This leader owns the Revenue & Retention product roadmap and its full execution. Your mandate is the 12-month book of work: taking capabilities that are in market or newly delivered, and driving  growth, retention, and monetization outcomes through coordinated in-product experiences and marketing programs. Because the SimpliSafe mobile app is the primary daily touchpoint for our subscribers, a deep expertise in mobile product strategy, app-led growth, and mobile UX is highly critical to this role, alongside the ability to extend that strategy through cross-channel customer engagement.

When the Director of Experience Strategy defines and ships a new capability — a new service, a reinvented experience, a new intelligence feature — it is up to your team to operationalize, grow, and optimize against subscriber value targets.

You are not executing someone else's vision passively. You will partner with the Experience Strategy team and own how every capability in your zone performs. You have full roadmap authority over the improvements, experiments, and growth initiatives within it. Your success is measured by tangible movement in subscriber retention, ARPU, and projected CLV.

You will lead a unified team spanning product management and customer marketing, and partner closely with the Director of Experience Strategy (who builds new capabilities) and the Director of Activation & Adoption (who ensures customers are set up to succeed from day one).

What You'll Own1. 12-Month Roadmap Ownership & Execution
  • Own the Revenue & Retention product roadmap across the current 12-month horizon — including prioritization, sequencing, and delivery.
  • Take newly delivered capabilities from the Experience Strategy team and drive the product and marketing initiatives that maximize their retention and revenue impact.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of mobile app ecosystems (iOS/Android) to ensure new capabilities translate into seamless, high-converting mobile experiences, and are reinforced through coordinated customer communications.
  • Run a rigorous experimentation and iteration cycle within your zone to continuously improve performance against CLV targets.
2. Monetization & ARPU Growth
  • Increase Free-to-Paid conversion rates.
  • Improve upgrade rates and optimize upgrade timing and value visibility, specifically through frictionless in-app conversion flows and external communication channels.
  • Drive hardware component attach and ARPU lift, by integrating cross-sell and up-sell opportunities naturally through multiple channels across the customer journey.
3. Engagement & Value Reinforcement
  • Own subscriber retention across the lifecycle, with accountability for expanding LTV through reduced attrition and increased sustained customer value.
  • Drive a holistic retention strategy that addresses key churn drivers, including perceived value, trust and reliability, and pricing and packaging friction.
  • Ensure customers consistently understand and trust the protection they receive through in-product experiences and lifecycle communications.
  • Increase meaningful engagement with core product experiences and execute targeted interventions at key churn moments to improve retention and satisfaction.
4. Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner as a peer with the Director of Experience Strategy — they build and deliver new capabilities into your zone; you own how those capabilities perform and grow.
  • Partner with the Director of Activation & Adoption to ensure customers arrive in your zone ready to engage, with strong handoff points defined jointly.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Data Science, and CX & Monitoring Operations to execute your roadmap.
  • Provide clear, data-backed input to Experience Strategy on what subscribers need next, informing the longer-horizon roadmap.
5. Team Leadership
  • Lead a unified Revenue & Retention team with the CLV org that includes product managers and customer marketing — this is both a product and marketing leadership role.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team accountable to measurable growth outcomes, mentoring them on best practices in mobile app growth and lifecycle marketing strategy.
What Success Looks Like
  • Reduced low-usage and customer-initiated churn across tenure bands
  • Increased ARPU and upgrade conversion rates
  • Improved hardware component attach and cross-sell performance
  • Measurable lift in projected 12-month CLV
  • Sustainable engagement without erosion of customer trust

What Values You’ll Share

  • Customer Obsessed - Building deep empathy for our customers, putting them at the core of our work, and developing strong, long-term relationships with them.
  • Aim High - Always challenging ourselves and others to raise the bar.
  • No Ego - Maintaining a “no job too small” attitude, and an open, inclusive and humble style.
  • One Team - Taking a highly collaborative approach to achieving success.
  • Lift As We Climb - Investing in developing others and helping others around us succeed.
  • Lean & Nimble - Working with agility and efficiency to experiment in an often ambiguous environment.

What We Offer

  • A mission- and values-driven culture and a safe, inclusive environment where you can build, grow and thrive
  • A comprehensive total rewards package that supports your wellness and provides security for SimpliSafers and their families (For more information on our total rewards please click here)
  • Free SimpliSafe system and professional monitoring for your home.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that bring people together, give opportunities to network, mentor and develop, and advocate for change.

The target annual base pay range for this role is $241,000-$354,000

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)

  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
