Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Senior Director, North America Benefits to join our Global Total Rewards team.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and elevate our total rewards landscape by designing sustainable, high-impact benefit strategies across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. You will partner directly with senior executive leadership to balance fiscal responsibility with competitive programs that safeguard and support our workforce. Here, your financial acumen and regulatory expertise will drive operational excellence while ensuring our people remain empowered and supported.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Drive Regional Benefit Strategy: Design, implement, and administer cost-effective health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs across North America.

  • Champion Financial Stewardship: Manage the multi-region operational budget, utilizing financial modeling and market benchmarking to ensure long-term fiscal sustainability.

  • Ensure Governance & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and regional statutory requirements, partnering with Legal, Tax, and Payroll to audit filings and mitigate risk.

  • Optimize Vendor Partnerships: Oversee strategic carrier and vendor relationships to control claim costs, optimize service delivery, and maximize total rewards value.

  • Lead & Empower Remote Teams: Provide direct leadership and coaching to a team of benefits professionals, translating corporate priorities into actionable operational goals.

What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of progressive benefits leadership experience managing complex multi-country portfolios across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

  • Deep working knowledge of statutory benefits, tax rules, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and regional governance.

  • Proven financial acumen with expertise in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and constructing scalable, financially sustainable plan designs.

  • Commanding executive presence with the ability to translate complex compliance and financial data into clear, direct decision frameworks for senior leadership.
