The Senior Director Industrial Solutions at Magna IT is responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Logistics Execution Systems (LES) across all Magna plants worldwide.
This role requires a strong understanding of industrial processes, technology solutions, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Major Responsibilities
1. Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop a strategic roadmap for industrial solutions, aligning with Magna's business objectives.
- Identify and prioritize technology requirements, ensuring alignment with plant operations and corporate goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
2. Solution Implementation and Management:
- Lead the planning and resourcing of projects and support for ERP, EDI, LES and MES
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system configurations, workflows, and data integration requirements.
- Ensure successful deployment of industrial solutions, meeting project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements.
3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead a team of industrial solution experts, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
- Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of industrial solution initiatives.
- Work closely with plant managers, operations leaders, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges.
4. Stakeholder Management:
- Build strong relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and recommendations on system enhancements and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of industrial solution initiatives.
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and data privacy requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with industrial solutions, implementing appropriate controls and security measures.
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to conduct regular assessments and audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on industrial solutions, ERP, EDI, MES, and LES.
- Strong knowledge of industrial processes, manufacturing operations, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience in successfully implementing and managing ERP, EDI, MES, and LES systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in managing projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
