This role is a senior engineer on the Raintree DevOps team. In this role you will be working with the rest of the team to implement IAC pipelines, building monitoring, and working on projects to deploy application environments, building scalable support infrastructure, and executing tasks to assure the general uptime of all Raintree cloud environments in AWS.
Duties and Responsibilities- Monitoring system performance using DataDog and other tools, identify points for optimization, and implementing system changes to address system problems
- Provision Infrastructure as Code (IAC) leveraging AWS, Terraform and GitHub workflows
- Building and managing configuration management tooling
- Creating runbook documentation for other engineers to follow when addressing system problems
- Support and embed with developer teams to learn their product and work with them on deployment systems and applications in the AWS environment
- Design, deploy, and support both containerized (EKS, ECS) and serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync) solutions
- Support performance tuning and cost optimization efforts within the environment
- Perform troubleshooting and support processes related to the Raintree applications and databases running in our environment
- Support 24x7 on-call rotation
- 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps pipelines related to containerized (ECS or EKS) and/or serverless workloads running in AWS
- 5+ years of system administration experience related to Linux and/or Windows running in AWS. Ability to work in both OS environments is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience delivering Infrastructure as Code leveraging AWS, AWS CDK, Terraform
- 5+ years of experience delivering system configuration management leveraging a standardized framework such as Terraform, Salt, Ansible.
- Advanced knowledge of supporting AWS environments utilizing python, lambda, and other automated methods
- Experience working with decentralized development teams as well as supporting CI/CD pipelines for multiple teams
- Advanced knowledge of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines that adhere to standards while being configurable to differing application teams’ needs
- Advanced knowledge of delivering AWS environments that are secure by design
- Experience deploying and maintaining advanced AWS networking topologies including Transit Gateway, Site to Site VPN, Client VPN, and multi-VPC connectivity is highly desired
- Experience operating on a DevOps team that utilizes agile scrum methodology is a plus
- Experience maintaining MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases running in AWS is a plus
- Experience deploying and maintaining AWS Organizations utilizing multi-account configurations is a plus
