As our Sr. Design Engineer, you will have a significant impact on the product and engineering team’s ability to rapidly deliver high quality solutions. You have front-end engineering skills as well as strong design taste.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

To be successful in this role:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex software, ensuring alignment with project requirements and design standards.
  • Contribute directly to the design system.
  • Identify and address UX quick-wins throughout the product.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Experience Officer and designers to raise standards at the point of implementation.
  • Support engineering team with design decisions, fill in UX gaps where complete designs do not exist.
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code, setting an example for coding practices and adhering to best practices.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback not just on code quality  but also ensuring visual and UX design standards are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
  • Innovate by researching and adopting emerging technologies, tools, and practices.
  • Contribute to comprehensive testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration practices.
  • Enhance monitoring and logging of errors generated from the front-end.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including technical design specifications and implementation guides.
  • Support the production operations of the applications by participating in technical  support and release duty rotations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to design and front-end engineering
  • Be a change maker that positively impacts caregivers by providing a better digital healthcare experience, contributing to our Company's mission.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be open to learning, experimenting, and evolving. Comfort with emerging technology and curiosity around how tools like AI can support your workflow or help families more effectively is a plus.

  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and building web applications for multiple projects
  • Experience working in Figma and contributing to a design system
  • Strong visual and UX design taste
  • Familiarity with Tailwind and React
  • Passion to learn new technologies and skills
  • Proven sense of ownership and self-management demonstrated through clear communication and follow-through on commitments
  • Experience with automated build and deployment pipelines and testing frameworks
  • Curiosity and experience with exploring how AI can transform your work

Total Rewards Package

The starting salary for this position is $140,000-$160,000.

To work remotely, you must have a strong internet connection, quiet space to take calls and a professional (distraction free) environment.

This is a remote and US states based opportunity. We ask that you work in a location that is:

  • Private, with secure (not public) internet and phone access
  • Suitable to safely and securely accommodate the sensitive information that you will be handling and communicating
  • Given the nature of the material you will be working on and handling, you are required to work from a private, dedicated, distraction-free space
