The US base salary range for this full-time position is 141,600.00 USD - 177,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. What you'll do as a Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer
- Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of our large scale Aurora MySQL/Postgres and VMWare-based on premises database infrastructure
- Automate monitoring, maintenance and support related tasks
- Define, recommend, follow, advocate and train on database design and performance best practices
- Able to rapidly diagnose and fix problems and provide periodic on-call support, effectively driving and managing communication under pressure and during incidents
- Plan and implement all aspects of database disaster recovery
- Develop and utilize self-provisioning tools such as Terraform and Chef to set up database infrastructure.
- Act as steward of the production environment infrastructure and reduce downtime through all actions, ensuring change management that provides for safe production deployments that are free of impact to internal and external users
What you'll bring
- Expertise in database administration, with experience maintaining highly available Relational MySQL/Postgres clusters in AWS and on-premises as well as NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DocumentDB)
- Amazon Web Services experience, 5+ years
- Expertise in SQL (complex queries and stored procedures)
- Expertise in data modeling and schema design
- Proficiency in automation tools (Terraform, etc).
- Proficiency in the scripting language of your choice (shell, perl, python, etc) and automation technologies (terraform, chef, docker, etc) for monitoring and custom automation
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills
- Extensive experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
