ZoomInfo is where careers accelerate. We move fast, think boldly, and empower you to do the best work of your life. You’ll be surrounded by teammates who care deeply, challenge each other, and celebrate wins. With tools that amplify your impact and a culture that backs your ambition, you won’t just contribute. You’ll make things happen–fast.

ZoomInfo is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to drive our customer insights and competitive intelligence strategy, leading analyses that shape how we evolve our data products to meet customer needs and maintain market leadership.

In this role, you'll become the expert in the customer experience with our Data Product and ZoomInfo's competitive landscape. You'll design rigorous analyses (understanding complex problems, forming hypotheses, testing with data, and delivering well-backed recommendations) that translate customer feedback, market trends, and competitive movements into strategic priorities. This isn't about building dashboards or SQL reports. This is about strategic analysis that drives decision-making and ensures our data products continuously evolve to power GTM and agentic workflows for sales and marketing professionals.

As a trusted advisor to Product, Engineering, and Data Leadership, you'll progressively own more of the customer insights strategy and lead larger strategic initiatives. This is a role with a significant growth runway for someone who wants to become the go-to expert on customer-driven data strategy and competitive positioning.

 Who You Are

Strategic Thinker with Analytical Depth: You understand how to translate customer data and market intelligence into actionable strategy. You've worked with customer analytics, product intelligence, or competitive analysis (maybe you've shaped product strategy, identified market opportunities, or driven data-driven prioritization). You don't just execute—you have informed opinions on what matters, and you're comfortable saying "here's what we should do and why" based on your analytical understanding and business judgment.

Growth-Oriented Problem Solver: You're excited to build deep expertise in product analytics and competitive intelligence and grow into leading strategic initiatives. You're equally comfortable designing quantitative analyses and conducting qualitative research, connecting data patterns to business impact. You thrive in evolving environments where priorities shift and problems aren't always well-defined, maintaining momentum and quality even when the path forward isn't perfectly clear.

Clear Communicator: You can build compelling narratives that drive decisions, whether through presentations, written reports, or demos. You're skilled at distilling complex analyses, defending recommendations, and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

 What You'll Do

In your first 12-18 months, you'll build deep expertise in customer and competitive intelligence, establish analytical frameworks and insights cadences, and progressively take on strategic prioritization and forward-looking initiatives. You'll learn our data products and systems while bringing fresh analytical perspectives.

Build Deep Customer & Competitive Expertise
  • Analyze customer behavior patterns, feedback data, and usage metrics to identify improvement opportunities in coverage, accuracy, and depth
  • Master ZoomInfo's competitive landscape: who our competitors are, what data they offer, how they're evolving, and where differentiation opportunities exist
  • Develop strong relationships with Product, Engineering, Data Leadership, and fellow analysts to understand context and build institutional knowledge
Establish Frameworks & Intelligence Cadences
  • Build and maintain a customer feedback framework using internal tools (platform usage tracking, call recordings, etc.) to become the customer/competitive knowledge expert for technical stakeholders
  • Develop standardized frameworks for evaluating competitive threats, such as data models backed by multiple sources that provide ongoing intelligence
  • Deliver actionable insights that inform product roadmap decisions
  • Document learnings, approaches, and analytical frameworks to share knowledge across the team
Drive Forward-Looking Initiatives
  • Influence roadmap prioritization by translating customer pain points and competitive trends into concrete data improvement opportunities with informed recommendations
  • Identify and lead opportunities for core data initiatives based on customer needs and competitive gaps (new data sources, expanded attributes, improved coverage, intelligence signals). Projects may range from week-long investigations to month-long strategic efforts
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to assess feasibility and shape solutions
  • Conduct impact analyses that quantify how improvements affect coverage, accuracy, and depth, helping bridge immediate needs with long-term data capabilities
 What You'll BringRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, customer analytics, product analytics or related strategic roles (these backgrounds are interchangeable)
  • Experience conducting customer analytics, market research, or competitive analysis that informed product or business strategy
  • Ability to design and execute rigorous analyses, solving ambiguous, multi-faceted business problems
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for data analysis and manipulation. You may use AI tools to accelerate coding, but should be capable of building technical proof-of-concepts or experimental tools independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Product and/or Engineering teams, translating between analytical findings and strategic business needs
  • Excellent communication skills: able to build compelling narratives and explain strategic recommendations to diverse audiences
  • Self-directed with strong ownership mentality: you drive your work forward and know when to seek input
Strongly Preferred
  • Ability to work hybrid from our Waltham, MA or Vancouver, WA office locations
  • Experience with B2B data products, business intelligence platforms, or data-as-a-product companies
  • Experience with customer analytics, product analytics, or usage data analysis
  • Background in competitive intelligence or market research
  • Knowledge of GTM workflows, sales intelligence tools, or B2B go-to-market strategies
  • Experience creating strategic frameworks or conducting impact assessments
  • Track record of leading or co-leading cross-functional strategic initiatives
This Role Is Not a Fit If:

You're looking to focus primarily on building dashboards, creating reports, tracking ongoing metrics, or data engineering architecture. While you'll conduct strategic analyses and need general knowledge of ZoomInfo's data pipelines to inform your recommendations, the core mission is forward-looking strategic analysis focused on customer insights and competitive intelligence, not operational reporting or production engineering.

This Role Is a Strong Fit If:

You want to become an expert on customer-driven data strategy and competitive positioning and grow into leading strategic initiatives. You're excited to build deep analytical expertise, contribute informed opinions to prioritization decisions, and progressively take on more ownership as you master the domain. You enjoy solving problems where the answer isn't obvious and seeing your analysis directly shape product direction.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
