PermitFlow is redefining how America builds. We’re an applied AI company serving the nation’s builders, tackling one of the largest information challenges in the economy: understanding what can be built, where, and how. Our AI agent workforce helps the fastest-growing construction companies navigate everything from permitting and licensing to inspections and project closeouts – accelerating housing, clean-energy, and infrastructure development across the country.

Despite being a $1.6T industry, construction still suffers from massive delays, wasted capital, and lost opportunity. PermitFlow has already delivered unprecedented speed, accuracy, and visibility to over $20B in development, helping contractors reduce compliance time, de-risk projects, and scale with confidence.

As the U.S. enters a new capex supercycle across data centers, factories, housing, and renewables, joining PermitFlow means building the AI infrastructure at the core of every construction project driving the next wave of reindustrialization.

We’ve raised over $90M, most recently completing our Series B, from top-tier investors including Accel, Kleiner Perkins, Initialized, Y Combinator, Felicis, and Altos Ventures, with backing from leaders at OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, and Uber.

Our HQ is in New York City with a hybrid schedule (3 in-office days per week). We prefer NYC-based candidates or those open to relocation.

Role Overview

PermitFlow is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to be the dedicated analytics partner for our Customer Success and Operations teams - the teams that deliver permits to our customers every day. Your work will shape how leadership runs and scales these orgs. You'll partner with Operations Leaders, CSMs, and Analytics Engineers to turn open-ended questions into the reports, metrics, and dashboards the company runs on.

What You'll Do

Own analytics for Customer Success and Operations. Collaborate closely with senior leaders to understand their roadmaps, identify areas of opportunity, and help define and measure success. Your analyses will directly shape how we drive retention, speed up permit turnaround, and scale these teams.

Deliver tangible impact. Triage incoming requests for new data, charts, and metrics, push back on low-value asks, and focus analytics effort where it moves the business most.

Build to answer the next hundred questions. Turn recurring requests into dashboards that power self-serve analytics. Work with Analytics Engineering to write dbt models when the data isn't easily available, and own the documentation to make it easy to find in the future.

Be the translator. Take open-ended requests and turn them into PRDs, leading the way through ambiguous, high-impact problems.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years in analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role where you used data to improve decision-making.

• Strong SQL: CTEs, window functions, and the patience to work through a wide table you didn't build.

• Experience modeling in a BI tool (Omni preferred), as well as a data warehouse like BigQuery or Snowflake.

• Working knowledge of dbt: you can write a model, add tests, open a pull request, and have an eye for efficiency.

• Hands-on use of LLM tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar) to write SQL faster, draft dbt models, and automate reporting.

• The instinct to ask what decision a request is for before writing any SQL.

Bonus: Experience working with Salesforce data, supporting Customer Success or Operations teams, and/or modernizing legacy reporting to meet evolving business needs.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth company

  • 100% company-paid base medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees + healthcare FSA

  • 401(k) savings plan

  • Unlimited PTO and paid family leave

  • Home office & equipment stipend

  • Daily in-office lunch and dinner provided

  • Commuter benefits (pre-tax transit and parking)

PermitFlow provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or family status, as protected by applicable law.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities. All employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
