Senior Credit Analyst
Location: Lawrence, MA - Onsite

 

Are you a seasoned financial professional with a passion for managing credit risk and driving business growth? Abel Womack seeks an experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our team in Lawrence, MA. In this role, you will conduct in-depth financial analysis, monitor credit risk, and provide recommendations to mitigate potential losses while supporting business growth.  The Analyst plays a critical part in evaluating the creditworthiness of both new and existing customers, ensuring financial stability, and supporting sound business decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive credit risk analyses for new and existing customers by evaluating financial statements, credit reports, industry trends, and economic conditions.
  • Monitor the credit portfolio to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to credit policies and guidelines.
  • Proactively assist and manage problem accounts.
  • Assist in developing and refining credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment tools.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to structure credit terms and mitigate risk in support of business growth and customer partnerships.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, reviewing their work and fostering skill development.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on trends and portfolio performance.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Proactively seeking to continuously improve processes to achieve greater efficiencies and control.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring all receivables are accurately recorded and outstanding balances are reconciled.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable preferred with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principle and credit risk management
  • Experience with ERP systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, with advanced skills in Excel; ERP experience preferred.
  • Effective process-oriented approach to work, able to plan and prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, reliable and able to multitask in a fast-pasted environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to internal and external customer service excellence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Salary range:  $80,000 - $100,000 annualized

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer or desk.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or reaching as needed for meetings or collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ability to lift and carry office materials (up to 15 pounds).
  • Frequent use of computer, telephone, and other business equipment.
