The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong expertise in Momentum ERP, Power BI, and SQL/back-end data querying. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting or working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or similar federal environments and will be skilled in translating complex business requirements into scalable technical and reporting solutions.
This role partners closely with business stakeholders, developers, and data teams to enhance financial, operational, and reporting capabilities across enterprise systems.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support operational and executive decision-making.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from back-end databases and tables.
- Support system integrations, data mappings, and process improvements within Momentum and connected platforms.
- Participate in testing activities including unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure solutions align with federal compliance, security, and data governance standards, especially within VA environments.
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Momentum or other ERP Solutions (financials, budgeting, or related modules).
- Strong experience building Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling and DAX.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including querying back-end tables, joins, stored procedures, and data validation.
- Experience working in federal government environments or regulated industries.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desired:
- Previous experience supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
- Familiarity with federal financial systems, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, or Azure data services.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Relevant certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, Microsoft Power BI, or similar).

The proposed salary range for this position is:
