Senior Business Analyst – Contract Lifecycle Management
Summary of Position
The Malbek Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in translating complex business needs into scalable, effective solutions within the Malbek Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to analyze requirements, define future-state processes, and ensure successful solution delivery.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading discovery efforts, documenting detailed business and functional requirements, defining best practice solutions, implementing configurations, and enabling the customer for success. This position also supports project planning and execution by ensuring requirements are clearly understood, feasible, and aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
A successful Senior Business Analyst will combine strong analytical thinking with exceptional communication skills, allowing them to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation while driving process efficiencies and user adoption.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and desired future state.
- Translate business needs into clear, comprehensive business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Analyze and map existing contract processes; recommend improvements using CLM best practices.
- Collaborate with implementation teams to validate solution design, configuration decisions, and alignment with documented requirements.
- Conduct gap analyses and propose alternative approaches when requirements or expectations do not align with system capabilities.
- Develop process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
- Support project managers in defining scope, milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful and timely project delivery. At times, you are the project lead, responsible for managing project tasks and timeline, working closely with your manager.
- Participate in user acceptance testing by creating test scenarios, validating functionality, and logging issues.
- Provide guidance to customers on maximizing value through standardized processes, automation, and optimized solution use.
- Perform system configuration and integration tasks.
- Assist with end-user training and change management activities to promote adoption and confidence in the solution.
- Contribute to internal knowledge base content, best practice documents, and repeatable implementation methodologies.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams by sharing insights on customer needs, recurring use cases, and opportunities for product enhancement.
- Provide subject matter expertise on CLM capabilities and configurations to support cross-functional initiatives.
- Obtain expert level knowledge in the Malbek CLM solution; be responsible for maintaining product knowledge with each release of the software.
- Leverage AI for implementation efficiency.
- Support system integration partners as team members.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of experience in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), preferably in a business analyst or solution architect role.
- Strong experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
- Ability to interface confidently with senior decision-makers and guide conversations toward strategic outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for varied audiences.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to bridge communication between business users and technical teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and curious, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and navigate escalations effectively.
- Experience with process design, requirements analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in iterative delivery environments.
- Working knowledge of SaaS platforms, software implementation methodologies, and change management principles.
- Proven experience in leveraging AI tools to gain efficiency in configuration and implementation processes.
- Experience working in diverse teams, across time zones, with co-employees and system integration partner team members.
