Job Description Summary

For over forty years, HarbourVest has been home to a committed team of professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to deliver impactful solutions to our clients and investing partners. As our global firm grows, we continue to add individuals who seek a collaborative, open-door culture that values diversity and innovative thinking.

In our collegial environment that’s marked by low turnover and high energy, you’ll be inspired to grow and thrive. Here, you will be encouraged to build on your strengths and acquire new skills and experiences.

We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that promotes mutual respect among all employees. Understanding and valuing these differences optimizes the potential of both the individual and the firm.

HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

The Senior Associate, Client Marketing will shape and deliver coordinated marketing campaigns for HarbourVest’s Global Private Wealth business. This role translates fundraising priorities, product focus areas, and audience insights into targeted, data-driven campaigns across global wealth audiences. As part of a newly established team, the role will also support the development of campaign workflows, processes, and ways of working that enable consistent, scalable execution across regions.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:
  • A strategic, hands-on marketer who can develop campaign ideas and drive execution
  • Fluent in wealth audiences, with deep familiarity in the US market and the ability to apply insights across global markets
  • Analytical, with experience applying audience insights to refine targeting and personalization
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working across regions, teams, and approval processes
What you will do:
  • Build coordinated marketing campaigns aligned with Global Private Wealth (GPW) fundraising priorities, supporting client acquisition, engagement, and pipeline development
  • Translate inputs from Investor Relations (IR), business leadership, and product marketing into campaign concepts, messaging frameworks, and channel plans
  • Define audience strategies across global wealth segments, including home office, platform, wirehouse, RIA, private bank, and financial advisor groups
  • Partner with Commercial Operations to use internal and third-party data for segmentation, audience development, personalization, and campaign measurement
  • Develop campaign journeys and sequencing across the prospect and client lifecycle, ensuring communications are timely, relevant, and aligned to commercial priorities
  • Deploy campaigns across channels including email, web, paid media, social, and advisor-facing communications
  • Incorporate sponsored and owned events into broader campaign strategies, including audience targeting, pre-event communications, and post-event follow-up, without owning on-site event execution
  • Coordinate development and adaptation of campaign materials, including emails, landing pages, digital assets, presentations, and related collateral
  • Manage campaign timelines, dependencies, workflows, reviews, and approvals to ensure high-quality, timely delivery
  • Partner with regional IR, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and compliance teams to support consistent execution across markets
  • Track campaign results and audience engagement, applying insights to refine targeting, messaging, sequencing, and channel strategy
  • Contribute to building scalable campaign processes, documentation, reporting practices, and guidelines
Education Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
Experience
  • 5–8 years of marketing experience, preferably within asset management, alternatives, or financial services

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
