Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Investment Operations professional to be a Senior Associate on our team.  Senior Associates support Managers by ensuring data integrity, accurate portfolio accounting and timely reconciliation across custodian, fund administrators, counterparties and internal systems.  The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, vendor management experience and a deep understanding of investment operations best practices.  Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversight of outsource providers – Serve as a primary liaison with Acadian’s outsourced accounting and reconciliation providers.   
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reporting –Perform oversight and quality control of third-party deliverables.  Deliver monthly statements to clients using in-house report delivery tools.
  • Oversight of Cash and Asset Reconciliation – Review currency balance and holdings exceptions between Acadian accounting systems and custodians/counterparties using reconciliation tools.  Check that currency accounts are not overdrawn. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data alignment and process integrity.
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reporting – Perform oversight and quality control of third-party deliverables. Deliver monthly statements to clients using in-house report delivery tools.
  • Oversee & Maintain Custodian Relationships – Work with the custodians to ensure an effective working relationship and to secure proper attention and maintenance of client accounts.
  • New Account Onboarding – Assist in onboarding new portfolios, custodians, or service providers by defining operational workflows and data requirements.

We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • A minimum of five years of operations-related experience, preferably in Investment Management.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or another financial related degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of investment instruments including foreign equities, fixed income and derivatives.
  • Experience working with or overseeing fund administrators, custodian banks and outsource providers.
  • A strong analytical background, vendor management experience and knowledge of financial accounting principles and best practices.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with data analysis and exception reporting.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a team player mentality.
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, able to work within a team-orientated environment, with vendors, as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills and willingness to assume additional responsibilities within group
