Summary

As a Senior Architect for the Data and Analytics team, at Guidewire you will participate in a leadership capacity collaborating with our customers and SI Partners who are adopting our Guidewire Data Platform as the centerpiece of their data foundation. You will work to drive consensus among all participants and assist customers embarking on enterprise data transformation initiatives achieve their goals adhering to Guidewire best practices and standards.
You will work with our customers, partners, and other Guidewire team members to deliver successful data transformation initiatives. You will utilize best practices for design, development and delivery by adopting an AI forward mindset to deliver value to customer projects by showcasing your expertise in both ingress and egress options when working with Guidewire InsuranceSuite Application Data in Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) . You will share knowledge with the wider Guidewire Data and Analytics team to enable predictable project outcomes.

Given the dynamic nature of the work in the Data and Analytics team, we are looking for decisive, highly-skilled technical and business problem solvers who are self-motivated and take proactive actions for the benefit of our customers and ensure that they succeed in their journey to Guidewire Cloud Platform and realize the value of their Data Assets like Cloud Data Access (CDA), DataStudio, and Explore post migration. You will collaborate closely with teams located around the world and adhere to our core values Integrity, Collegiality, and Rationality.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will design and propose high level design diagrams for overall system architecture and adopt AI forward thinking.

  • You will lead Inception Sessions to build consensus on project scope, and generate user stories with acceptance criteria and contribute actively to the evolution and fine tuning of Guidewire Vantage Methodology.

  • You will work closely with business analysts to derive Data Management and Analytics technical solutions from Business Requirements Documents.

  • You will collaborate with data analysts, ETL and BI developers, and QA testers to assign appropriate implementation and testing tasks and deliver sprint goals.

  • You will analyze complex data structures in legacy source systems and help the business and data analysts to map them to the Guidewire InsuranceSuite data model. You will accelerate the processes by adopting AI forward thinking and actively optimizing and AI enabling all of Guidewire Data Platform and analytics offerings.

  • You will manage the end-to-end data loading process, including pre-load validation, execution of load jobs, and post-load verification.

  • You will optimize migration processes for performance, making configuration adjustments to improve speed and efficiency, particularly when dealing with large data volumes, to meet project SLAs.

  • You will enable offshore teams to be successful in delivering agreed upon business requirements while conforming to Guidewire best practices & standards.

  • Work with the PMO providing domain expertise to achieve successful project outcomes.

  • Lead efforts to harvest project collateral to build out collateral to enable repeatability.

  • Create new tooling to streamline data processing when called upon or when the opportunity presents itself

  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a sense of ownership and drive

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment

  • Guidewire consultants are expected to spend up to 50% of their time on-site with the customer business and technical teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent level of demonstrable professional competency

  • 8+ years in a Senior technical role building out complex Data Integration frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of the P&C insurance domain, including concepts like policies, claims, billing, and underwriting.

  • Fundamental understanding of Guidewire InsuranceSuite Applications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and ContactManager) at an atomic level.

  • If specializing on the Ingress to InsuranceSuite Applications from Legacy Sources, then working knowledge of migrating into Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications is required.

  • If specializing on the Egress side, then working knowledge of at least one technology stack among AWS, DataBricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery etc. is required.

  • If specializing in delivering statutory and regulatory reporting, and analytics then well rounded knowledge of P&C Insurance and Workers Compensation domain concepts, requirements gathering sessions, BI architecture and delivery template design and automation is required.

  • Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts. 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing projects

  • 5+ years of Experience with leading BI developers and architects to deliver complete solution stacks.

  • 5+ years of Experience with data processing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, and Transform) concepts.

  • At least 3 years of experience leading design review sessions to build consensus among diverse groups of technical and business participants.

  • At least 3 years in a leadership capacity for delivering complex data transformation initiatives including mentoring and team building.

  • Experience working in Guidewire Data Migration/Data Platform projects.

  • Experience working with relational databases

  • Experience working with customer teams to understand business objectives and functional requirements.

  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity in Change Data Capture (CDC) frameworks

  • Experience with NoSQL databases

  • Experience working with different cloud platforms (such as AWS, DataBricks, Azure, Snowflake, Google Cloud, etc.)

  • Experience in adopting AI platforms like Claude code to deliver business value and reduce implementation cycle time.
     

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000 - $265,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
