The Senior Applications Developer is an experienced individual contributor responsible for delivering features and small projects with a high degree of independence. Senior developers are expected to identify impacts and proactively participate in their resolution, consulting with more experienced developers in affected areas as appropriate. The role emphasises delivery excellence, technical quality, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver software features and small projects with minimal supervision.
- Take ownership of assigned features from design through delivery, including effort estimation and tracking.
- Apply best-practice software engineering techniques, algorithms, and coding standards.
- Contribute to shared libraries, frameworks, or utilities to improve team productivity.
- Independently prioritise and manage assigned work within agreed objectives.
- Design and communicate technical solutions for peer and stakeholder review.
- Provide proactive status updates, identify risks, and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Mentor and support junior developers in programming, design, and solution fundamentals.
- Actively participate in release readiness and delivery activities for owned features.
Skills and Experience
- Advanced proficiency in relevant programming languages and development frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and the development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Recognised expertise in one or more system or product areas.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

InterSystems is providing a current good faith estimate of the anticipated base salary range for this position depending on a variety of factors including experience, education, skills, and performance.
Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.
