Job DescriptionSenior Analyst, Commercial Effectiveness
The Senior Analyst, Commercial Effectiveness plays a key role in helping Bose understand, explain, and improve commercial performance across core levers including sell-through, product and category performance, retailer execution, pricing, promotions, and broader market dynamics.
Embedded within the Commercial Analytics team, this role partners closely with business leaders to move beyond “what happened” to uncover “why it happened,” “what would have happened otherwise,” and “what we should do next.” The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
A primary focus is advancing Bose’s pricing and promotions analytics capabilities—evaluating effectiveness, measuring incrementality and financial tradeoffs, and building scalable, repeatable frameworks that enable consistent and rigorous decision-making across commercial levers.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance & Driver Analysis
- Analyze sell-through across products, categories, channels, retailers, and markets to identify drivers of growth, decline, and share movement
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Retail, and Business Planning to diagnose performance and deliver actionable insights
- Evaluate commercial execution (e.g., assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotions, media, channel dynamics)
- Develop clear, executive-ready narratives connecting business outcomes to underlying drivers
- Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and decision-ready outputs
Pricing & Promotions Effectiveness
- Lead analysis of pricing and promotional performance across products, categories, and retailers
- Measure impact including lift, incrementality, cannibalization, pull-forward, margin effects, and post-promotion behavior
- Support elasticity and price sensitivity analyses to inform pricing and investment decisions
- Establish best practices, methodologies, and frameworks for evaluating pricing and promotions
- Identify opportunities to optimize discounting and improve promotional efficiency across revenue, margin, and share objectives
Measurement, Testing & Decision Support
- Design and evaluate test-and-learn initiatives across pricing, promotions, and retail execution
- Build analytical frameworks distinguishing descriptive insights from causal and incrementality-based measurement
- Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics or AI to improve decision quality
- Ensure insights are delivered with appropriate context, assumptions, and business implications
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing Analytics, Data Science, or related field
- 5+ years in commercial, pricing, sales, retail, or marketing analytics
- Strong experience working with large, complex datasets and translating business questions into analytical approaches
- Deep understanding of commercial performance drivers (price, promotion, assortment, channel, product mix, marketing, retailer execution)
- Proficiency with BI and analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, R)
- Strong communication and analytical storytelling skills for non-technical audiences
Preferred
- Experience with pricing, promotions, elasticity, incrementality, uplift modeling, and revenue growth management
- Familiarity with retail sell-through, POS, syndicated, retailer, or e-commerce data
- Experience analyzing margin tradeoffs, promotional ROI, cannibalization, and price sensitivity
- Background in consumer electronics, retail, CPG, or omnichannel businesses
- Comfort leveraging advanced analytics or AI-enabled tools to scale insights
