Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to leverage their accounting expertise and make a big impact at a fast-growing company. In this critical role you will support timely and accurate month-end closings, financial reporting and variance analysis, as well as manage complex financial data and contribute to financial planning and budgeting.   

LOCATION: Waltham, MA (Hybrid, 3 to 4 days per week on-site, 1 to 2 days remote)

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries, detail balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with month and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company policies.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement.
  • Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably within CPG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy business.
  • Demonstrated experience with tight month-end closings and variance analysis to support decision-making.
  • Ability to streamline accounting operations.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, analytical review)
