About Hi-Altitude Brands

Hi-Altitude Brands, through our flagship brand, Stonehenge Health, is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer supplement company on a mission to help people live healthier, more vibrant lives. We develop premium, science-backed formulations featuring clinically studied branded ingredients that set us apart from competitors. Our products are sold through our website, Amazon, and Walmart, reaching hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide.

We are a fully remote team that values autonomy, ownership, and results. We move fast, test constantly, and hold ourselves to high standards. If you thrive in environments where your work has a direct, measurable impact, you will fit right in.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team!

In this hands-on role, you will own the monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting, and help build the processes and ERP foundation Finance will run on as we scale. You will blend day-to-day transactional accounting with technical accounting and reporting, work closely with Operations and executive leadership, and have a clear growth path to Assistant Controller.

This position reports into the Controller.

Responsibilities
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations end to end on a documented close checklist, so the books stay accurate and nothing backs up.
  • Tie out accruals, prepaids, and deferred revenue and prepare the related journal entries each month, so leadership can trust reported results.
  • Shorten the month-end close cycle and document every step, so the close stays fast and repeatable as the company grows.
  • Run AP/AR processing, invoicing, and day-to-day transactional accounting directly, so vendors are paid and customer balances stay current.
  • Prepare the monthly management reporting package for the Controller and COO and build consolidated KPI and variance reporting, including board- and investor-ready reporting as needs mature, so leadership has a clear, reliable view of performance.
  • Support the accounting side of our ERP selection and migration, including chart of accounts redesign, data migration validation, and UAT, so we launch on clean, well-structured data.
  • Document new accounting processes and workflows as we move off manual tracking, and partner with the Director, Operations on shared master data and inventory costing (including landed COGS), so Finance and Operations work from the same numbers.
  • Apply GAAP-level judgment to revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and inventory costing, and resolve technical questions early, so they never become audit findings.
  • Maintain internal controls and prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, so audits run smoothly and the business stays compliant.
  • Build a documented coverage plan and serve as the primary backup for core Controller responsibilities, so close and reporting never stall during an absence.
What Success Looks Like
  • Month-end close runs on a documented checklist with zero reconciliation backlog.
  • Leadership receives a consolidated monthly management reporting package on schedule, every month.
  • Finance’s ERP chart of accounts and data migration plan are fully documented and validated.
  • A written coverage plan means a Controller absence never stalls close or reporting.
  • AP/AR and other transactional work is fully absorbed into the role with no service disruption.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct ownership of month-end close and reconciliations
  • Strong GAAP and technical accounting fundamentals, including revenue recognition and inventory costing
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software or an ERP, and advanced Excel skills
  • Comfortable owning both hands-on transactional work (AP/AR, invoicing) and higher-level reconciliation, reporting, and technical accounting. This is a hybrid role, not a pure oversight seat.
  • Proven ability to build process in an under-systemized environment, not just operate within an existing one

Preferred

  • ERP implementation or migration experience (chart of accounts design, data migration, UAT)
  • Experience at a growth-stage consumer products or DTC company
  • CPA, or actively pursuing the CPA
Compensation

Competitive salary range of $85,000-100,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility

Benefits
  • Flexible time off + 9 annual company holidays
  • Your Birthday is a paid vacation day - take the day to celebrate your awesomeness!
  • 100% company-paid base plan Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance for employees
  • 100% company-paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability Coverage
  • 401(k) with safe harbor and profit-sharing contributions up to 5%
  • Matching Charitable Contributions up to $2,5000/year
  • $1,200/annual Work from Home (WFH) stipend
