This role plays a crucial part in shaping interactive, scalable 3D experiences in enterprise PLM, helping transition workflows from static 2D designs to dynamic collaborative environments.
The engineer will work across the full 3D pipeline—from viewer UX and model rendering to cloud architecture and API design—supporting enterprise deployments for luxury and consumer goods clients. Additionally, there are future plans to integrate AI and stable diffusion for virtual product try-ons and advertising content creation.

We are seeking a Senior 3D Application and Experience Engineer to design and deliver next-generation, web-based 3D tools for product visualization, configuration, and review. Key Responsibilities
3D Viewer Engineering
- Develop modular 3D web applications using React, TypeScript, Three.js, and MobX.
- Implement dynamic model loading, camera controls, lighting presets, snapshot generation, and annotations.
- Extend and maintain asset ingestion workflows using GLB/GLTF, including PBR textures, material variants, and avatar integration.
- Leverage tools like JSZip, FBXLoader, and gltf-transform for asset optimization.
- Develop stateless microservices using Node.js and REST APIs.
- Contribute to containerized deployment via Docker and AWS EKS.
- Apply performance profiling for handling large asset rendering (100MB+ models).
- Collaborate with backend teams to implement structured APIs for 3D model data, user sessions, annotations, and environments.
- Ensure compatibility with PLM entitlement systems and session-based access control.
- Support the development of interactive configuration layers for colorways, materials, and trims mapped to BOM entries.
- Ensure integration with data-driven workflows in Centric PLM.
- Utilize Terraform, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Datadog to monitor infrastructure health and optimize rendering performance.
- Debug issues and maintain high uptime for customer-facing applications.
- Enhance roadmap features like environment lighting presets, snapshot template libraries, and variant-aware commenting.
- Contribute to efforts integrating AI and stable diffusion for virtual model testing.
Experience
- 5+ years of professional development with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- 2+ years working with Three.js on production-grade 3D applications.
- Prior experience in gaming studios (Unity, Unreal Engine), interactive marketing agencies, or 3D startups is a plus.
- Expertise in rendering pipelines, shaders, and custom materials.
- Strong understanding of GLTF/GLB format pipelines, UV mapping, texture atlases, and PBR materials.
- Familiarity with browser-based debugging tools (WebGL Inspector, Spector.js).
- Experience deploying to AWS (EKS, S3, CloudFront).
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of monitoring platforms (Datadog, Grafana).
- Strong understanding of RESTful service design and session-based authentication workflows.
- Experience integrating with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Familiarity with authoring tools like CLO3D, Blender, or 3ds Max.
- Experience preprocessing assets using Node libraries or CLI tools (gltf-pipeline, blender CLI, FBX2glTF).
- Experience with multi-product 3D configurators.
- Familiarity with WebGPU, WASM, or server-side 3D rendering.
- Knowledge of physics-based simulations, garment draping, or cloth rendering.
- Previous experience integrating avatars (Alvanon, Scanatic) via proprietary APIs.
- Exposure to enterprise PLM or DAM systems.
