Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical execution of Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring robust detection, analysis, and escalation of security incidents.
  • Maintain the SOC’s operational readiness by supporting 24/7 monitoring processes and technologies.
  • Monitor and analyze network infrastructure to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity through continuous assessment.
  • Drive proactive threat hunting and vulnerability identification initiatives using advanced analytical tools and techniques.
  • Design, refine, and support SOC workflows, technical processes, and playbooks to optimize operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure security operations align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, document, and maintain technical operational procedures, playbooks, and escalation protocols for the SOC.
  • Establish and monitor SOC performance metrics (such as response times, detection rates, false positive/negative rates, and system uptime) to assess operational health.
  • Analyze SOC performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for technical improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver technical performance insights to leadership, recommending actionable improvements to enhance SOC capabilities.
  • Conduct technical post-incident reviews to capture lessons learned and implement improvements to future response processes.

Qualifications

  • More than five years of experience leading Security Operations Centers (SOC).
  • Engineering experience managing threat detection technologies, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, and incident response frameworks.
  • Leverage data analytics and automation to enhance SOC effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIA, or GCIH are highly desirable.

The hiring range for this position in Atlanta, Georgia is: $153,100-$210,475.
