WHOOP is hiring a mission-driven Scientific Communications Associate to translate cutting-edge scientific insights into compelling, accessible content that enhances both internal and external understanding of human performance and health. This individual will bridge the gap between research and application by crafting clear, evidence-based narratives that amplify WHOOP’s credibility in science and innovation. The ideal candidate combines scientific rigor with exceptional writing and storytelling ability, and thrives in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of science, health, and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate scientific concepts, findings, and product innovations into clear, engaging content tailored for diverse audiences and distribution channels.
- Synthesize peer-reviewed literature and internal analyses into evidence-based narratives aligned with WHOOP’s brand voice and scientific integrity.
- Analyze complex datasets to extract insights that support health- and performance-focused communications.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure scientific accuracy, appropriate sourcing, and effective positioning.
- Support scientific publishing efforts, including manuscript drafting, editing, and submission coordination.
- Partner with design and multimedia teams to enhance scientific storytelling through data-driven visuals and creative assets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline such as physiology, exercise physiology, psycho-physiology, or biomedical science.
- Proven experience translating scientific research and data into compelling, accessible content for broad audiences.
- Demonstrated experience working with complex datasets, with proficiency in SQL and R or Python for data analysis and visualization
- Strong research skills with the ability to critically evaluate and synthesize peer-reviewed literature.
- Experience contributing to or supporting peer-reviewed publications and manuscript development.
- Familiarity with content management systems, digital publishing platforms, and SEO best practices.
- Experience in health, fitness, performance, or wearable technology sectors.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $120,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
