  • Participate in migration of SAS workloads, ETL jobs, and batch processes from SAS GRID to SAS Viya.
  • Analyze existing SAS GRID environments, ETL workflows, scheduling dependencies, and data pipelines.
  • Convert and validate SAS programs, macros, and ETL processes for SAS Viya compatibility.
  • Support migration of SAS Enterprise Guide projects, batch scripts, and shared libraries.
  • Ensure migrated jobs execute efficiently within the SAS Viya compute environment.
  • Identify compatibility issues and recommend remediation approaches.
  • Quality Assurance & Validation
  • Perform code validation and reconciliation between SAS GRID and SAS Viya outputs.
  • Conduct unit testing, system testing, and parallel run validations.
  • Troubleshoot migration and ETL-related issues.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and process integrity throughout migration activities.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Collaborate with business users, data teams, infrastructure teams, and architects.
  • Provide regular updates on migration progress and issue resolution.
  • Support client discussions and technical walkthroughs as needed.
Responsibilities

Required Technical Skills

SAS Technologies

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAS Base Programming
  • SAS Macros
  • SAS Enterprise Guide (EG)
  • SAS Viya Platform (Good to have)

ETL & Data Engineering Skills

  • ETL development and maintenance
  • Data transformation and integration
  • Data quality validation and reconciliation
  • Performance tuning and optimization of SAS jobs
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts

Development & Tools

  • Git / version control systems
  • CI/CD exposure is preferred 
  • Experience working in Linux environments)

Cloud & Infrastructure (Preferred)

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
  • Cloud-based analytics platform deployment
 

Domain Expertise

  • Experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain preferred
  • Understanding of insurance data, underwriting, claims, pricing, or actuarial datasets is an advantage
  • Familiarity with regulatory and reporting environments is preferred.
 

Leadership & Soft Skills          


  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within distributed teams
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new SAS platform capabilities


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in SAS programming and ETL development
  • Strong SAS Base and Macro programming expertise
  • Experience supporting SAS GRID-based applications and batch processes
  • Exposure to SAS Viya is preferred
  • Experience in ETL support, enhancement, and migration activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

 

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following:

  • Computer Science
  • Statistics
  • Data Science
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Or related technical discipline
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAS Certifications (Base SAS, Advanced SAS, SAS Viya)
  • Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models
  • Previous experience leading large-scale analytics platform migrations
  • Exposure to insurance analytics or actuarial systems
