HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The SAP Basis Administrator II is jointly responsible for administration, and support, of SAP systems and environments, ensuring the highest levels of performance, availability, and security. The position implements the installation and optimization of the SAP landscapes and ensures smooth integration with other business-critical applications. This role requires basic expertise in databases/PLSQL, Operating systems, and security best practices.
The several SAP Basis positions are the ‘Swiss Army knives’ of the SAP world, delving into everything from bare metal hardware design/architecture, hypervisor and networking solutions, OS installations, RDBMS installation and implementation and tuning, SAP product installation and tuning, RDBMS and SAP security, troubleshooting / tracing, disaster recovery, and occasionally even ABAP development and troubleshooting.
There are several peripheral systems associated with the ERP solution that are also in the purview of the Basis team. These include Solution Manager, SAP Java instances, Web dispatchers, BI/BW systems, ETL systems, and others.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
SAP System Administration:
Install, configure, upgrade, & maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, Solution Manager).
Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP applications.
Manage SAP system landscapes, incl. transport management, client copies, system refreshes.
Database & OS Administration:
Administer and optimize SQL Server , HANA DB, & other databases.
Work with OS-level configurations (Windows/Linux/Unix) to support SAP environments.
Monitor system resources and ensure efficient utilization.
Security & Compliance:
Manage user access, roles, and authorizations following best security practices.
Adjust SAP security model as needed as the implementation evolves.
Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and industry standards.
Cloud & Infrastructure Support:
Manage SAP on-premise and cloud-based deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP, SAP Cloud).
Support Web Dispatcher, Solution Manager, and SAP Router configurations.
Work with network and infrastructure teams to optimize SAP connectivity.
Project & Change Management:
Collaborate with functional and technical teams on SAP implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
Support change management processes and documentation for SAP landscapes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with SAP support and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with Solution Manager.
Basic knowledge in SQL Server and HANA DB, databases and security models.
Experience and knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with various hypervisors (VmWare, Nutanix, HyperV, Etc.)
Familiarity with transport management, backup & recovery, and system refreshes.
Understanding of SAP security, roles, and authorizations.
Troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to SAP Solution Manager (SolMan).
Experience with SAP Cloud platforms (SAP BTP, AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting) for automation.
SAP certification in Basis or HANA administration (a plus).
Ability to handle sensitive matters and information with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
Attention to detail, ability to multitask, remain organized and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines
Self-motivated team player, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work in fast-paced environment & pivot focus of responsibilities in smoothly & efficiently

The ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal) across all organizational levels.
Must be comfortable with conflict resolution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams
Education, Certification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2-5 years of relevant experience with SAP Basis administration
Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and willingness to continue learning new systems/technology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment and is expected to be fully in office. Candidates must be available for on-call support as well as during critical events or system issues. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
