Technical Lead (Salesforce)
Location: Fully Remote (United States)

Summary:

Build your career where technical depth meets delivery ownership. We are a remote-first, global team of Salesforce and Amazon experts offering comprehensive benefits, equity in a high-growth company, and the autonomy to grow your career on your own terms.

As a Technical Lead, you are the hands-on technical backbone of Thunder's delivery teams. You blend deep coding expertise in Apex, LWC, and Salesforce integrations with the ability to manage and mentor a development team, translate architectural designs into working solutions, and keep complex builds on track. You'll work closely with Solution and Technical Architects - turning their designs into detailed technical execution - while also being the person your team and your client trust to solve the hardest day-to-day technical problems. You're a builder, a team lead, and a quality gatekeeper, ensuring every sprint ships clean, well-architected code on schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and solution designs from Architects into detailed low-level design, user stories, and development tasks.
  • Write high-quality Apex, LWC, and integration code, and review team code to enforce standards, performance, and scalability best practices.
  • Manage and mentor on- and offshore development resources - allocating work, unblocking issues, and driving day-to-day technical execution across the team.
  • Refine user stories with the Architect and Product/Delivery leads to flag technical feasibility risks (security, visibility, scalability, extensibility, performance) before development begins.
  • Execute assigned portions of data migration plans (mapping, transformation, load validation) as defined by the Data Architect, and flag data quality or design issues early.
  • Participate in client design sessions and workshops as the technical feasibility voice - validating what's buildable, estimating effort, and surfacing risks to the Architect and Delivery Lead.
  • Own environment and release management execution: branching strategy, deployment pipelines, and release calendars (Git/Copado), following standards set by the Architect/DevOps function.
  • Actively triage bugs, track technical milestones, and serve as the team's escalation point for technical blockers - escalating design-level issues to the Architect when they exceed Lead-level scope.

Requirements:
  • 3–5+ years of Salesforce consulting experience, with the most recent 2–3+ years as a Technical Lead or Senior Developer
  • 2–4+ years of experience managing or mentoring offshore/onshore development resources
  • 3+ years of hands-on Lightning, LWC, Apex, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Salesforce API development experience
  • Strong understanding of the core Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud) with functional awareness of the broader Product Suite (Agentforce, Marketing Cloud, AWS/Amazon Connect, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data integration patterns and tools (ERP, data warehouse, marketing, AWS, Azure, reporting) sufficient to execute integration work designed by an Architect
  • Strong understanding of Development Lifecycle, environment and release management, org strategy, branching strategies, and deployment methodologies (Git or Copado experience preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, either on a team or as an individual contributor
  • Excellent client-facing written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working within Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Active Salesforce certifications, with willingness to pursue additional certifications; examples:
    • Platform Developer I & II, Platform App Builder, Service Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant
    • Application Architect (or progress toward it) as a growth path for those aiming toward architecture
