Summary:
Thunder's Technical Architect (TA) is a leadership role focused on designing and driving a scalable Salesforce architecture, vision, and strategy for customers, increasingly centered on unifying customer data through Salesforce Data 360 alongside core CRM platforms. You'll partner closely with customer business and technology stakeholders to ensure the technical roadmap directly enables their desired business outcomes.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong consulting skills, focusing on problem-solving and leading technical projects within the Salesforce ecosystem. You will be responsible for the technical design, technology selection, integration strategy, and development methodology, while also governing the execution of development work.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical authority for customer engagements from inception through support.
- Lead technical workshops and client design sessions to define technical strategy and manage scope, acting as the primary bridge between high-level business goals and technical feasibility.
- Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions, defining the system architecture and identifying gaps between current and desired end-states to deliver a comprehensive CRM and customer data solution.
- Architect Data 360 implementations - including data modeling, harmonization, identity resolution, calculated insights, and activation strategies - as part of a unified customer data platform.
- Forecast detailed estimates for proposed solutions and clearly articulate the benefits, risks, and feasibility of proposed functionality.
- Create diagrams, draft design documentation, and employ best practices to lead technical aspects of implementation and optimization projects.
- Oversee the development team's execution against the architecture, ensuring the solution meets client expectations, proper testing is conducted, and performance is monitored.
- Partner with offshore and nearshore resources to conduct code reviews, uphold coding standards, and clarify design decisions.
- Help to define and enforce coding and documentation standards at Thunder, and mentor junior members of the Technical Capability, including Technical Leads.
- Contribute to Thunder's Data 360 delivery practice - refining methodology, reusable assets, and playbooks across engagements.
- Remain current on Salesforce product and technical capabilities, particularly within the Data Cloud/Data 360 and Agentforce roadmap.
- Support sales and pre-sales efforts by scoping engagements and accurately estimating technical level of effort.
- Demonstrate expertise through blog writing, public speaking, and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of technical or consulting experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, including 4+ years specifically in an Architect capacity, of which 2+ years are hands-on experience architecting Salesforce Data Cloud/Data 360 solutions - including data ingestion (batch/streaming connectors), identity resolution and unification, calculated insights, segmentation, and activation to downstream channels (Marketing Cloud, ad platforms, etc.).
- Key additional areas of expertise we're looking for: Agentforce, Service Cloud, Mulesoft, ARM, Marketing Cloud, AWS/Amazon Connect.
- Technical skill set should include system design and architecture, Lightning Web Component development, Flow Development, Salesforce configuration, Apex class development, API integration, and Data Cloud data modeling/architecture
- Expert in custom and managed-package API integrations (RESTful + SOAP); proven implementation using Salesforce Integration Patterns
- Expertise in data modeling, MDM, and complex data migrations, including harmonized data models spanning Data Cloud and core CRM objects
- Active Salesforce certifications, with willingness to achieve additional certifications on emerging technologies
- Required: Certified Data 360 Consultant, Platform Data Architect, plus at least one additional domain architect certification from: Platform Integration Architect, Platform Sharing and Visibility Architect, Identity and Access Management Architect, Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect.
- Preferred: Any remaining domain architect certifications listed above, plus Application Architect and/or System Architect.

At Thunder, we are committed to pay equity and transparency. The annual salary range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000 and represents the national base pay targets for this role across all U.S. locations. This disclosed range does not include additional compensation components such as discretionary bonuses, equity, or our standard employee benefits package.
