Job Description:

Position:              Salesforce Technical Architect

Location:             Washington DC

Mode:                   4 days onsite per week

Role Summary

Define and govern the end-to-end Salesforce platform architecture across multi-org environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. Lead platform strategy, reference designs, and technology standards spanning security, data, integration, automation, Experience Cloud, Financial Services Cloud (FSC), and enterprise DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set org strategy (single vs. multi-org), environment models, upgrade roadmap, and architectural principles.
  • Govern designs for scale, performance, governor limits, and maintainability; approve exceptions.
  • Define FSC data architecture (FSDM, household and relationship models, ARC) and compliant data sharing.
  • Establish Experience Cloud strategy (site design, guest-user security, headless vs. standard patterns).
  • Lead security architecture (SSO/OAuth/SAML, least privilege, roles/permissions, Shield encryption).
  • Align with enterprise security and privacy standards (e.g., SOC 2), enforcing guardrails for Flows, Apex, LWCs, and integrations.
  • Own integration and data architecture (APIs, Bulk API, Platform Events, CDC, middleware, Named Credentials), system-of-record, and MDM alignment.
  • Drive automation and development standards (Flow vs. Apex, bulkification, error handling) and retire legacy patterns.
  • Define enterprise DevOps (source-driven development, Git branching, CI/CD, automated tests, rollback, 2GP packaging, namespace strategy).
  • Provide technical leadership: maintain ADRs, mentor engineers, run design reviews/workshops, and serve as escalation point.

Core Skills

  • Deep Salesforce platform expertise: multi-tenant architecture, LDV, event-driven patterns, metadata-driven development.
  • FSC and Experience Cloud architecture, including secure portal access and performance-optimized LWCs.
  • Enterprise security and identity (SSO, MFA, encryption, audit).
  • Integration patterns with APIs, events, middleware, and OAuth.
  • Dev standards for Flow, Apex, LWC; reusable patterns and reference implementations.
  • DevOps at scale: CI/CD, test automation, packaging (2GP), versioning, and release governance.
  • Proven delivery in large, regulated enterprises with audit-ready documentation and cross-team leadership.

Experience

  • 8–10+ years on Salesforce across Sales, Service, Experience, and FSC.
  • Architecture leadership in security, identity, integration, automation, and DevOps.
  • Platform roadmap ownership and multi-team, multi-org delivery governance.
  • Success in regulated or global environments with complex, cross-cloud designs.

Certifications

  • Required: Application Architect or System Architect; Administrator; Advanced Administrator; Platform App Builder; Platform Developer II; Experience Cloud Consultant.
  • Strongly recommended: Sharing & Visibility; Data Architecture & Management Designer; Integration Architecture Designer; Identity & Access Management Designer; FSC Accredited Professional; Release/DevOps (Unlocked Packages); JavaScript Developer I.
