Strategic Alliance Manager

The ideal Strategic Alliance Manager candidate has a strong consulting background and has been successful working at and/or with a Deloitte, Accenture, E&Y, etc., for at least 3-years. They must also be technically inclined and naturally curious to learn about Mendix’s portfolio. They have made the choice to work within the consulting field to have a more holistic view and understanding of business to help them individually broaden their skill set(s) and aid in advancing their career.
The ideal candidate also understands deal structure and deal flow. They know how to write business plans and are comfortable with holding people accountable. They have worked in, understand and can operate in a Matrix Organization. They view their role as a SAM as a Statesman/Stateswoman; “Influencing without authority” is key, they must be able to align cross-functional resources within Mendix as well as manage the same within the Strategic Alliance Partner they support. They must also be comfortable working with senior executives both inside and outside their organization.
The Strategic Alliance Manager will be one of the founding members of Mendix’s alliance team. This role will require a mixture of sales, strategy, relationship building & enablement, and driving executive alignment. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Alliances, the Strategic Alliance Manager will act a trusted lieutenant as this team is built from the ground up. They will help navigate and network through their assigned Strategic Partner and significantly contribute to the creation of joint GTM plans to drive incremental revenue for Mendix. They will also be closely involved with supporting their partner in sales cycles. This is a high visibility role with the potential for massive impact in a hyper-growth tech startup.

  • What cases have you’ve been on, and what your role was on each case.
  • What industries you have done work in.
  • How much exposure to senior executives have you had, and if you have been given the opportunity to address CxO’s directly.
  • If you have done work with any functional support groups directly. (Accenture liquid studios, Application development groups, industry specialists etc.)
  • General understanding of financing and knowledge of how to leverage margin.
  • You are a self-starter.
  • How you have overcome the obstacles you were faced with in your previous positions.

  • Have worked with sales teams as a part of your cases.
