Opportunity Overview
The Sales Operations Proposal Specialist will be primarily responsible for the development and writing of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents as well as providing general sales support to our internal team. This position is part of the Growth team which is a vital function in the company’s ability to win new business and retain current clients. This position requires a talented individual with strong writing skills, attention to detail, with a curious and collaborative nature, who can thrive in a deadline-driven environment. It requires the ability to work independently while stewarding work within a team environment. This position is remote and reports to the Sales Operations leader.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and understanding of business process management / enterprise software and security considerations, two or more years of experience responding to technical RFPs, coupled with strong writing skills. Candidates should have good time and project management skills, and prior experience with healthcare SaaS software proposals is a plus.

What you will do:
- Meets with sales staff and others to review RFP, clarify objectives, and determine requirements to develop compliant, customized proposals.
- Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information, and coordinating with key internal contributors for additional information if needed.
- Produce quality responses to RFPs by following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone while ensuring compliance to prospect and client requirements.
- Establish priorities and target dates to ensure that the proposals are submitted on time. Obtain approvals and submit completed proposals to the requester.
- Develop a deep understanding of our business, product, and market positioning.
- Maintain records of all proposals submitted and received.
- Gather and store feedback, and updated proposal responses to help improve proposal content repository and process.
- Stay abreast of changes in product/program offerings, translating those updates to incorporate changes/enhancements into proposal content to ensure information is current in proposals.
- Establish productive working relationships with senior management, cross-functional internal staff members, external collaborators, and business development resources.
- Lead and manage other pre-sales projects and initiatives, and support the sales/marketing teams as needed.
Your Background & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two or more years of experience responding to technical RFPs.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably for a health-tech company, healthcare consulting, or health plan.
- Knowledge of proposal processes; experience writing in the healthcare or managed care industries strongly preferred.
- Technical background and experience with enterprise software.
- Excellent writing, organizational, communication and planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail, and critical thinking ability.
- Ability to manage numerous active projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational, project management, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, matrix environment.
- Ability to work with staff across various teams, while facilitating strong collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to new, technology-driven tools (e.g., database, online procurement systems).
- Intellectually curious, able to self-start initiatives. Exhibits owner mentality.
- Independent work ethic with the ability to be successful in a virtual environment.
- Start-up ready mindset - progress over polish, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Technology:
- Because we are a technology company, candidates who thrive here have a growth mindset, are quick tech learners and tend to be comfortable navigating various forms of technology
- Experience using Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong experience with RFP response management software, RFPIO preferred.
- Bonus points: Salesforce experience
