We, at Flywire, are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development. In this role, you will grow our B2B vertical by driving impact through business development. You will need to develop a deep understanding of the market in order to determine which partnerships will be critical to our success and which clients will find the most value in our product. This will include sourcing new partnerships, negotiating deals, developing pipelines, and maintaining the ongoing relationship. Our B2B success is depending on developing the right opportunities and this role will be a crucial part of our team.
Our team is composed of creative problem solvers and execution focused Flymates who develop deep relationships with customers and partners to understand their challenges and ensure each customer gets the most value out of our solution. To be successful in this role, you will leverage your knowledge of Flywire’s services and solutions, along with a deep understanding of our customer’s business, so that you can build a long term successful program.
Identify the right channel and technical partners needed to scale our B2B business
Source, negotiate, and close multifaceted complex partnership deals that support and accelerate Flywire’s B2B team goals
Work cross-functionally and globally with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Marketing and other internal organizations across Flywire to execute and drive partnerships
Drive and coordinate project efforts across multiple teams to strike significant mutually beneficial long term deals
Build and foster strong relationships with key external partners
Collaborate with partner managers to ensure partnership deals are set up and implemented for long term success
Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of Flywire’s key business and customer objectives
Partner with regional business development and customer teams to launch and support strategic partnerships in key global markets
Lead strategic deal-making effort to improve Flywire’s global and regional partnerships to increase user acquisition and revenue
Pitching and closing partnership deals bringing the best products and features at the best value for our customers
Leading the relationship management effort with our current partners
Seek out emerging product and industry trends through customer insights and competitive analysis to continually feed vertical opportunities into the pipeline for assessment.
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of combined experience in business development or partnership programs
Excellent analytical and technical expertise to build strategies and to articulate inter-dependencies
Outstanding C-level communication and interpersonal skills to engage in the necessary internal and external conversations needed to be successful
Passion and commitment for business success and a tested ability to maintain a high level of productivity while managing competing priorities
Independent self-starter that can set their own direction when needed
Creative and critical thinking with ability to use data and market insights to structure high impact deals
A proven track record for driving and exceeding targets in more than one territory
Experience working in high-growth companies in Strategy, Operations or Business Development positions
Demonstrated ability to construct, analyze, and deliver new business lines / products
Excellent business acumen, communication and interpersonal skills
Track record in managing complex partnerships
Technically proficient to understand and promote Flywire’s product to partners
Experience working for a payments for fintech company is a strong plus
