Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and manage opportunities to deliver Orders, Sales, Margin, and Down Payment targets.
- Coordination with the operation/execution team to deliver a positive customer experience from inquiry to after sales service
- Identify opportunities and drive commercial strategies for the customers in conjunction with regional organization, segment business leaders, segment equipment sales leaders, business development and key account managers, Marketing, Commercial Operations and Sales Operations teams
- Coordinate with the Service team to provide service offerings along with new equipment either as part of the initial deal or once put into service (e.g. LTSAs, Digital and Parts).
- Provide input into the marketing and product leadership teams to enhance the value proposition for the GE PC product and system offering in the Industry and the associated go to market strategy for the UK P&L.
- Ensure accurate and current project and opportunity information is maintained within the SFDC CRM system and ensure compliance with the commercial processes.
- Work effectively in a team environment with Commercial Operations, System Business Operations, System Engineering and Finance etc. to ensure a smooth and efficient handover of projects from sales to execution teams.
- Identify, understand, and communicate internally, customer specific and general market expectation, product and solution offering, pricing and commercial conditions.
- Participate in and support trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities within the region, including maintaining knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
- Support the Key Account Managers both within UK and other regions to build strategic level relationships with customer executive level leadership teams especially with those accounts with a large pipeline of projects in our targeted segments.
Qualification/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline, and / or advanced business degree with applicable industry experience
- Proven track record of relevant sales experience in the power conversion industry with a good knowledge and experience on large complex electrical power systems.
- Knowledge and experience across the key market segments, Ports, Utilities / Renewable, Rail, Test System, Metals and Mining
- Practical understanding of: current/emerging requirements of the various market segments; and customer financial drivers and needs
- Strong communication skills and confidence with customer presentations
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels of the organizations
- Customer focused mind-set with proven ability to respond quickly to internal and external customer needs
- Flexible for frequent UK travel and occasional overseas travel
- Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
- Self-starter with high energy and ability to energize others
Desired Characteristics
- Experience working in an EPC or project engineering company serving large multi-national companies in the Electrification Industry
- Experience and proven track record selling into one or more of the following market areas :-
- Power Quality solutions (e.g. Synch Condensers, Statcoms) into the Utility/ Grid and Industrial sectors
- Electrification solutions for infrastructure and large industrial plant projects including Micro-Grids (e.g. Rail, Ports & Docks, Gas pipelines, Mining)
- MVDC/MVAC connection schemes for distribution grids and/or offshore O&G electrification
- Hydrogen production and supply chain electrical solutions including power conditioning equipment for electrolyzers and drives/motors for compressors and other process equipment
