Summary:

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager to lead our high growth North American Government & Public Sector Account Executive Team at Clio. 

What your team does:

Our Account Executive, Government & Public Sector team drives Clio value for government agencies and public sector organizations across the US and Canada. The Government & Public Sales team was launched at the end of 2024, and represents  a new and high growth segment for Clio. Account Executives in this segment  partner closely with legal teams and general counsel, IT, and Procurement groups to sell the value of Clio’s Legal Management and AI solutions. They generate pipelines, manage long and complex procurement cycles including managing and submitting responses through RFP and RFI processes,  forecast opportunities, and evaluate technical product fit while navigating compliance, security, and regulatory requirements. The team partners closely with Solution Engineers and our Channel Partner teams to deliver solutions that meet public sector needs, working cross-functionally to provide legal technology  cloud-based solutions for government, education, and Not For Profit Legal customers.

What you’ll work on:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Government & Public Sector Account Executives;

  • Hold the team accountable to revenue targets, attainment metrics, and KPIs;

  • Guide and support complex government sales cycles, including RFPs, RFIs, security reviews, and compliance-driven evaluations;

  • Advise on and participate in strategic deals, negotiations, and customer escalations;

  • Deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual MRR targets;

  • Own accurate forecasting and Salesforce data hygiene across extended procurement timelines;

  • Drive territory planning, opportunity development, and in-territory initiatives within the Government & Public Sector segment;

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and continuously develop talent to meet headcount and performance goals;

  • Partner cross-functionally with sales leadership, solution engineering, marketing, customer success, product, enablement, finance, legal, and security to address procurement, compliance, and contracting requirements;

  • Lead or contribute to segment-level initiatives, pilots, and process improvements;

  • Travel up to 20% to support team development, customer engagement, and in-person events;
     

What you bring:
  • 5+ years of experience leading sales teams (or equivalent experience);

  • 2+ years closing large, complex, multi-stage SaaS deals;

  • 2+ years of experience selling into Public Sector  State, Local, and Education (SLED) organizations, with a deep understanding of government-specific purchasing cycles, budgeting timelines, and  structures.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams (Legal, Security, Product, etc.) to successfully respond to high-stakes Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) while ensuring compliance with submission guidelines.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key public sector stakeholders, including CIOs, General Counsel, and Procurement Officers within state and local agencies.

  • A consistent track record of high performance;

  • A growth-oriented mindset with comfort giving and receiving feedback;

  • Demonstrated success coaching high-performing sales teams.

  • Experience using tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, SalesNav or similar is a plus 

  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI

Preferred:
  • Experience selling into the legal industry;

  • Experience selling an operating platform;

  • Familiarity with public sector compliance, security standards, or government contracting frameworks;

  • Experience in a hyper-growth environment.

The expected salary range* for this role is $96,200 to $120,300 to $144,400 USD. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
