Remotebase helps businesses build world-class engineering teams and AI-powered solutions without the overhead of traditional hiring. Alongside our talent solutions, we partner with organizations to design and implement AI workflows, AI agents, and business automation solutions that improve efficiency and unlock growth.

We’re growing our commercial team and looking for someone who can own the entire sales cycle for our AI & Automation business. If you’re excited about selling cutting-edge AI solutions in a fast-moving startup environment, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

We’re hiring for this role as contract-to-hire. You’ll begin on a part-time contract so we can confirm it’s a great mutual fit, with a clear path to a full-time position for the right person.

Our Growth team generates demand and qualifies opportunities. Your responsibility begins when a prospect expresses interest in learning more about our services. From there, you’ll own the entire customer journey, leading discovery, positioning solutions, preparing proposals, negotiating commercial terms, closing new business, and growing customer relationships over time.

This role is designed for someone who thrives on ownership. We aren’t looking for someone who follows a rigid playbook. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks commercially, and finds creative ways to turn opportunities into long-term customers.

  • Own all qualified sales opportunities generated by our Growth team.
  • Respond promptly to interested prospects and guide them through the sales process.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand customer goals, challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Position AI workflows, AI agents, automation solutions, and custom software services based on customer needs.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and commercial recommendations.
  • Lead negotiations and close new business.
  • Manage customer relationships after the sale, including renewals, upsells, and account growth.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and successful customer outcomes.
  • Maintain an accurate CRM and healthy sales pipeline.
  • Continuously improve how we sell by testing new ideas, refining messaging, and identifying better ways to convert opportunities.

Requirements
  • 2 to 5 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Based in the United States.
  • Experience selling AI workflows, AI agents, automation services, custom software development, AI consulting, or digital transformation solutions.
  • Strong consultative selling, discovery, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using modern CRM and sales tools.

Bonus Points

    • Experience selling AI-powered solutions to mid-market or enterprise businesses.
    • Familiarity with platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, n8n, Make, Zapier, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI ecosystems.
    • Previous startup experience.
What Success Looks Like

You’ll be successful if you consistently:

  • Convert qualified opportunities into customers.
  • Build lasting customer relationships that lead to renewals and expansion opportunities.
  • Solve commercial challenges creatively and move deals forward independently.
  • Continuously improve the sales process through experimentation and learning.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
