Sales Development RepresentativeAbout the role

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to generate new business opportunities by prospecting and qualifying leads across multiple channels. You'll be the first point of contact for many future RetailNext customers — reaching out, understanding their needs, and setting up qualified meetings for our Account Directors.

The right person is results-driven, organized, and genuinely curious about customer problems. You're comfortable with high-volume outreach, you keep your CRM data clean and current, and you take feedback well as you sharpen your pitch and process.

This role is a launchpad: it's built to give you a strong foundation in B2B sales, with a clear path forward into an outside sales role responsible for closing enterprise deals.

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer

Location: Remote, US-based

What You'll Do

Outbound Prospecting & Pipeline Generation

  • Run multi-channel outbound campaigns across calls, email, and LinkedIn to reach target accounts
  • Research target accounts and identify the right decision makers to contact
  • Build and refine personalized outreach sequences, email templates, and calling scripts
  • Maintain a high volume of quality outbound activity every day
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects

Qualification & Handoff

  • Run initial qualification conversations to confirm a prospect's needs and fit
  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Directors to take the conversation further
  • Work closely with the sales team to hand off opportunities smoothly
  • Track and report on prospecting activity and results

Sales Skill & Product Development

  • Build a progressively deeper understanding of RetailNext's product suite and how customers use it
  • Sharpen sales methodology and messaging based on what's working in the field
  • Keep CRM records accurate and up to date for every prospect interaction
  • Build a strong base of customer knowledge and use cases to draw on in conversations
What We're Looking For

Required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Results-oriented mindset and comfort working toward outbound targets
  • Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline using CRM tools
  • Curiosity about customer needs and how to translate them into a qualified conversation
  • Comfortable prospecting across phone, email, and LinkedIn

Valued but Not Required

  • Previous SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform
  • Interest in progressing into a closing sales role
  • Background or interest in retail, IoT, or SaaS analytics
What We Offer
  • Clear, defined path from SDR into an outside sales role closing enterprise deals
  • Hands-on coaching from Account Directors as you build core B2B sales skills
  • Early exposure to RetailNext's full product suite and enterprise retail customers from day one
  • Monthly Recharge Day
  • Holiday Exchange Program
  • Best Self Benefit Program
  • Medical Insurance
  • Work from Anywhere up to 90 days

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
