Position Summary

This position is responsible for all customer and end user sales and application support activities associated with all Taco Fall River (TFR) products. This includes internal and external sales/application/technical support for all customers including contractors, engineers, Taco Representatives, commercial regional managers, commercial channel managers, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) sales managers, international sales managers, and account managers.  This position is also responsible for establishing sales prices and Special Price Authorizations (SPA’s) Quotations for custom products to the Taco commercial sales team and their associated representatives.

Measures of success:

  • Provide Timely Sales/ Applications/ Technical Support to Internal/External customers
  • Increased Sales Revenue for TFR Products
  • Increased SPA closure rate and revenue on custom TFR Products

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collects cost and manufacturing data from various departments and previous projects to compute sales prices and profit margins for customized products. Creates SPAs (Quotations) for the commercial sales group and will review options with sales team regularly.
  • Works with the commercial sales group to develop special pricing on standard products as needed.
  • Assists in product sizing, material selection, application of standard and custom products.
  • Generates SPAs as requested and reports sales and closure rate to TFR Product Managers.
  • Communicates with direct customers, end users, sales representatives and engineers regarding pricing, lead times, expedites, applications, returns and technical questions regarding TFR products.
  • Represents the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner providing assurance to customers of the company’s capabilities. Promote and maintain positive customer relations, responding to customer and representatives’ inquiries by telephone, e-mail, or other identified communication channels.
  • Communicates with Engineering, Quality Control, and Buyer/Planners for submittal generation, U1A forms, and expedited lead times.
  • Develops relationship with OEM/Representatives for understanding of product needs and opportunities within their territories. Provides quotation on custom products in coordination with OEM sales manager.
  • Works with regional sales managers for coordination of tour groups and training, provides tours and introductions to new Taco personnel.
  • Provides training on product support tools to account managers, technical support and shop employees as needed.
  • Assists Product Managers in maintenance and generation of catalogs/submittal data sheets, installation sheets, operation and maintenance manuals, price sheets, and specifications.
  • Systematically interpret end user problems, identify solutions and possible side effects.
  • Works with Quality Services to examine warranty claims, handle customer returns and exchanges. Fully communicates with customers concerning returned goods.
  • Works closely with Product Managers to keep them informed of field and product problems.
  • Upon request, trains other technicians, customers, and sales representatives.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and may travel to customer sites to aide technical services field technicians and customers.
  • Maintains positive customer relationships internally and externally and is the front line of communication between TFR and its customers.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Sales or significant applicable experience in lieu of a degree
  • 8+ years’ applicable experience in customer service, HVAC, or similar industry
  • Proficiency with selection tool software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically with Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of HVAC/Hydronics parts and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional ability to be self-directed and motivated.
  • Excellent ability to present and train on projects and ideas in a thoughtful manner.
  • Travel less than 5% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in customer service, HVAC, metal fabrication or similar industry
  • ASME pressure vessel familiarity.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office environment using computer and technology.  Verbal and auditory capability are required. 

This is an onsite position that reports into the facility every day. Occasional exposure in production plant or job sites where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  Safety gear is required in these areas.
