Position Summary

The Sales & Applications Engineer will provide technical leadership for evaporative media products, water management systems, customer applications, and product development initiatives. This role will support strategic projects, customer-facing technical requests, certification activities, research programs, and cross-functional engineering teams. The position is designed to assist with a significant portion of the current workload associated with R&D support, customer technical support, standards participation, water treatment initiatives, and product performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Technical Support

  • Serve as technical lead for customer-facing engineering requests.
  • Provide technical guidance on:
    • Water treatment
    • Chlorine dosing
    • Media performance
    • Air density calculations
    • Damage criteria
    • Product certifications
  • Develop technical reports, calculations, and recommendations for customers.
  • Conduct product performance evaluations, modeling, and validation testing
  • Participate in research initiatives involving filtration, water treatment, and sustainability that are focused on customer solutions
  • Be a main contributor on new technologies, competitive products, and emerging market opportunities based off customer needs.

Water Management & Sustainability

  • Lead water quality initiatives and water treatment studies.
  • Support Zero Discharge projects and sustainability programs.
  • Evaluate water modeling software and treatment methodologies.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories, consultants, and regulatory organizations
  • Support corporate water reduction initiatives.

Certifications, Standards & Compliance

  • Support product certifications and testing programs.
  • Coordinate fire-rating and third-party approval projects.
  • Participate in ASHRAE technical committees and industry standards activities.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements impacting evaporative cooling products.

Cross-Functional Engineering Support

  • Support R&D, Quality, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate testing activities and technical investigations.
  • Assist with issue resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in:
    • HVAC
    • Cooling technologies
    • Water treatment
    • Thermal systems
    • Industrial product development

Technical Skills

  • Engineering calculations and data analysis
  • Water chemistry and treatment fundamentals
  • Technical report writing
  • Product testing and validation
  • Project management
  • Customer-facing engineering support

Preferred Experience

  • Evaporative cooling systems
  • Data center cooling applications
  • Heat transfer and thermodynamics
  • ASHRAE participation

  • Product certification programs
