Why SailPoint?
SailPoint is the leading, AI-driven security platform providing the autonomous governance that best solves the needs for the modern enterprise. By harnessing the power of AI and machine learning, SailPoint automates and streamlines the complexity of delivering the right access to the right identities and technology resources at the right time—delivered at the scale our enterprise-customers demand.
We are proud of our team and the culture we have built, which has led to our employees voting us “best places to work” – 15 years in a row.
What You’ll Do:
Operating at the intersection of Solution Engineering, Professional Services, Product Management, and Forward Deployed Engineering, Agentic Operations Engineers leverage state-of-the-art AI tooling, including LLMs, multi-agent pipelines, and agentic coding assistants to deliver SailPoint solutions, tailored to our customers’ requirements. The goal is to prove our capabilities in solving complex problems, accelerating time-to-value, and reducing the cost of traditional services.
A core part of this role is owning AI-assisted identity migration and demo delivery loops end-to-end. You will gather customer artifacts (e.g., IdentityIQ (IIQ)/ competing IAM exports), feed these artifacts into internal LLM/agent pipelines, troubleshoot and correct agent outputs, perform hands-on verification and remediation in SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC), and package outputs for proof-of-value and sales engagements. Day to day, that means prompting and steering agents, reviewing model-generated analysis and configuration artifacts, validating results against real tenant behavior, and deciding when to accept, revise, or re-run AI-produced work.
Outside those operational activities, the Agentic Operations Engineering team is responsible for the maintenance of existing tools, as well as the creation of new tools and processes to ensure that SailPoint is helping our customers achieve rapid ROI. Agentic technology powers the tools and processes that we build and maintain.
Agentic Operations Engineers at SailPoint embark on their journey by undergoing comprehensive product training. This foundation allows them to harness their existing experience, paving the way for a profound understanding of our SaaS solutions and the challenges they solve for our customers.
Within one month you’ll begin operating the existing AI-tooling used to modernize our customers from SailPoint IIQ (or other vendor legacy systems) to ISC. You will successfully run LLM/agent pipelines, interpret agent findings, and escalate issues with clear context.
After the first three months, you will independently process data streams and build customer environments with limited assistance and supervision. This includes following our processes and making judgment calls that affect output quality, critically reviewing LLM/agent outputs (not trusting them blindly), and making the changes needed to ensure demo- and sales-ready quality.
By the end of the first year, you will continue to lead end-to-end runs of our existing processes and contribute to process improvements, build or extend new AI/agent tooling, and support more hands-on deployments with the Forward-Deployed Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
Discover and understand customers’ existing environments and map them to SailPoint agentic solutions, using LLMs and agent tooling to accelerate analysis, drafting, and option evaluation—then validate those recommendations with human judgment
Operate AI-assisted migration pipelines and agent tooling; prompt, steer, and re-run agents as needed; diagnose failures, incomplete outputs, hallucinations, and configuration gaps. Critically review LLM-generated artifacts (analysis, designs, configs, transforms/rules, demo materials) for correctness, completeness, and customer fit before they are used by Sales Engineers (SEs) or customers
Perform hands-on verification and targeted remediation in SailPoint ISC (sources, schemas, correlation, identity profiles, lifecycle states, transforms/rules, provisioning, demo data, access catalog, etc.), using AI assistants to speed investigation while owning final tenant quality
Produce SE-ready deliverables (summaries, demo scripts, walkthrough notes, issue lists) and present findings clearly to Sales Engineers and deal teams
Assist the Forward-Deployed Engineering team with foundational implementations and proof-of-value engagements
Assist in the analysis and documentation of customer requirements and how they map to SailPoint solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams like sales, solution engineering, product, professional services, and customer success to ensure a seamless customer experience
Confidently leverage Artificial Intelligence, LLMs, and agentic technologies as core working skills: effective prompting, agent orchestration, output evaluation, and AI-assisted coding/debugging. Contribute to building and maintaining agentic technology solutions, prompts, playbooks, and evaluation checks that become SailPoint’s standard for product demonstrations and modernization delivery
Escalate product/pipeline defects with clear reproduction details and proposed fixes; help improve turnaround predictability across customer engagements
Requirements:
3–5+ years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company, systems integrator, or consulting firm; 3+ years of software implementation or pre-sales experience. Experience in software development, implementation, and configuration
Excellent communication skills
Strong troubleshooting instincts: isolate root cause from logs/errors/incomplete inputs, verify fixes end-to-end, and communicate status clearly to SE and sales stakeholders
A working knowledge of technical infrastructure including web services, application servers, databases, virtualization, and directories is required
Conversant in modern SaaS architecture
Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
Willingness to work from imperfect customer extracts, ask clarifying questions, and still deliver demo-ready outcomes
Preferred:
3+ years working with Identity, Governance, and Access Management solutions
Hands-on SailPoint IIQ and/or SailPoint ISC (IdentityNow) experience
Experience with demo tenants, sample data seeding, customer POV / proof-of-concept environments, or SE enablement
Experience with migration projects (IIQ → ISC, or similar IAM platform migrations)
Familiarity with SailPoint products and vendors such as Saviynt, RSA/Aveksa, One Identity, Oracle Identity Manager, etc.
Experience with agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex
Security software or IT audit experience
Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for data cleanup, API calls, or validation helpers
Education:
Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
J2EE certification and/or CISSP certification is a plus
SailPoint Certified Engineer or Solution Architect is a plus and is expected within 12 months of hire
Travel:
This position may require up to 15% travel.
