Job Summary

40-hours, day/eve/night rotation including weekends, holidays and on-call required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 year OR RN experience.
RN Operating Room
Lunder 4 OR, located at Main Campus at MGH, is an eleven-room operating room unit serving Neurosurgical, Vascular surgery, and Interventional Radiology patients. Lunder 4 is a high volume, level one trauma unit as well as having scheduled surgeries. Lunder 4 incorporates the technologies of biplane hybrid suites for interventional radiology imaging, Cat scan, as well as intra-operative MRI.
Lunder 4 is a multidisciplinary team with supportive and engaged nursing leadership. Nurses, surgeons, technicians, and anesthesiologists work towards a common goal of safe and efficient patient care. Lunder 4 is open 24/7 every day of the week. Summary
Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.


 

Qualifications

Education Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required Experience Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. - Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Excellent verbal and communication skills. - Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
