What we’re looking for: 

Nexamp is growing its Portfolio Operations team and looking to hire a Renewable Portfolio Operations Manager. In this role, you will play a critical role in managing renewable energy projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Substantial Completion (SC). As a key liaison across development, construction, procurement, and finance teams, you will ensure transparency on project status and alignment with project objectives. Your focus will be on preserving project value, addressing risks, and supporting financial closings, including construction and Tax Equity Financing. 

This is a hybrid role out of Chicago, Washington, DC, New York, or Boston. You will report to the VP, Nexamp Portfolio Operations. 

What you’ll do:  

  • Portfolio Oversight: Manage a portfolio of renewable energy assets, serving as the primary point of contact from NTP through Substantial Completion.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines, budgets, or deliverables, collaborating with relevant teams to implement solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration between development, construction, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Support Financial Closings: Assist with construction financing and Tax Equity Financing by managing documentation, addressing outstanding conditions precedent, and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure projects comply with regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements while providing regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and resolutions.
  • Data Management: Maintain project trackers, financial models, and other tools to monitor and preserve project value throughout the lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to refining processes and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and support successful financial closings and project outcomes.

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of proven experience in project management, renewable energy, or infrastructure, with a strong understanding of supporting financial closings, including construction financing and Tax Equity Financing.
  • Land development, real estate negotiations, solar construction/project management, or solar project development experience is preferred 
  • Familiarity with compliance, permitting, and construction processes is a plus.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.   
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality. 
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions. 
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry. 
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
