Drive Capital Integrity in a Complex Regulatory Environment

Santander is seeking a Regulatory Capital Reporting Associate with deep Basel III expertise to support and enhance our capital reporting framework. This role sits within Controllership and plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of capital reporting across the organization.

If you have hands-on experience interpreting and applying Basel III rules, calculating risk-weighted assets (RWA), and supporting capital ratio reporting (CET1, Tier 1, Total Capital), this role offers visibility, ownership, and cross-functional influence.

The Impact You’ll Make -

  • Lead and support preparation and review of Basel III regulatory capital calculations and reporting.

  • Interpret evolving regulatory requirements and assess impact to capital reporting processes and disclosures.

  • Partner with Risk, Treasury, and Finance teams to validate RWA calculations and capital adequacy metrics.

  • Drive improvements in capital reporting automation, data quality, and controls.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to senior leadership on regulatory capital matters.

  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and internal control reviews.

  • Identify process enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance.

  • Mentor junior team members on capital reporting standards and best practices.

What You Bring -
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory reporting, capital reporting, or bank controllership within financial services.
  • Direct experience with Basel III capital rules (U.S. or European framework preferred).

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA)

    • CET1, Tier 1, and Total Capital calculations

    • Regulatory filings (e.g., FR Y-9C, Call Report, COREP, or similar)

  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP/IFRS and regulatory reporting standards.

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Risk, Treasury, and Finance.

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience leveraging SQL, Access, Oracle, or SAS to improve reporting processes preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve controls, streamline reporting, and enhance automation.

  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or a equivalent field - Required.

  • CPA or MBA - Preferred.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range:

Minimum:

$71,250.00 USD

Maximum:

$122,500.00 USD
