Job Description
Responsible for direct oversight and management of sales employees, in an assigned region. Develop business plans for regional growth and the overall profitability of the region.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, lead and execute the Cabinetworks Group regional business plan to achieve budgeted sales volume at specified price attainment and profit margins, develop growth plans to maintain/increase regional growth and market share.
- Execute a proactive business/process development campaign to ensure that Territory Managers prospect for new business, qualify, assess needs, and acquire new clients (including building/remodeling/dealer accounts) as well as service all existing accounts.
- Develop, communicate and lead all dealer account management processes and manage a to high-level of brand expectations. Create, manage and measure a team that adds substantial value to dealers and operates with a growth mindset.
- Responsible for cultivating and maintaining business relationships with key customers to support departmental goals and objectives.
- Research, analyze and monitor Dealer’s business, sales trends, sales history, advertising/ marketing and make recommendations for increased sales.
- Responsible for P&L management and makes adjustments as needed to ensure success on budget commitments.
- Drive high performance culture through effective coaching and performance development. Coach and develop sales employee talent to meet current and future staffing needs.
- Implement and execute sales policies and practices within area of responsibility.
- Analyze and monitor sales against defined metrics, goals and objectives.
- Establish and manage performance goals for sales team.
- Participate in forecasting process and oversee the expense budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Responsible for monthly budgeting and bi-weekly report outs to key executives.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales or related field and 8+ years of selling experience.
- 5 years of experience leading a high-performance sales team to include P&L responsibility.
- Successful management of an independent dealer network, preferably in the building material industry.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the successful ability to coach staff and develop a high-performance team.
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with department, cross-functional business teams, and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both external customers and internal teams.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict management and change management.
- Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
- Proven negotiations skills.
- Effective market analysis and selling skills.
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Experience in the building industry.
- Experience leading both company employees and independent agency employees
Starting at $115,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus program.
