More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

Canada is one of Wise's fastest-growing markets and a key strategic priority in North America. Canadians increasingly use Wise as a day-to-day account – moving money internationally, spending abroad, and paying for groceries and subscriptions – and we're looking for someone to lead the next phase of that growth.

You'll own the growth of Wise in Canada, accountable for new customer acquisition and contribution margin. You'll define the Canadian GTM – messaging, positioning, channel mix, and budget allocation – and work in close collaboration with channel leads based in London on campaign execution and optimization, and with the Regional Growth and Product teams on new features and promotions. You'll also be the voice of the Canadian customer, feeding insights back to the Regional Product team to shape the roadmap.

Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Execution

  • Define the go-to-market strategy for Wise in Canada, including messaging, positioning, channel mix, and budget allocation.
  • Own new customer acquisition and contribution margin growth for the Canadian market.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the Canadian customer and competitive landscape.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Work closely with channel leads based in London on campaign execution and optimization across the funnel.
  • Partner with Regional Growth and Product teams on new features and promotions that support Canadian growth.
  • Represent the interests of Canadian customers, capturing and feeding insights back to the Regional Product team for product improvements.

Channel Oversight:

  • Review, challenge, and add value to channel leads' plans and performance, bringing enough depth in acquisition channels to be a credible second opinion, not just a stakeholder.

Product & Customer Expertise

  • Become an expert in selling the product – understand the customer, their objections, and what actually converts.
  • Bring that expertise back into planning, positioning, and channel strategy.

Qualifications

  • You're data-driven. You understand unit economics, payback period, and opportunity sizing, and you use them to make budget and channel decisions.
  • You have experience running geo tests, A/B tests, and other incrementality experiments, partnering with Marketing Analytics and Marketing Science teams on test design, and using opportunity sizing to prioritize where to invest.
  • You have experience owning a marketing budget and being accountable for its return.
  • You're an influential leader who can work cross-functionally across regional and global teams, without direct authority over every lever.
  • You communicate clearly and persuasively, with both regional and global stakeholders.
  • You're entrepreneurial and self-directed, comfortable operating in a matrix organization with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • You have previous experience working alongside Product.
  • You have deep enough experience across acquisition channels to review, challenge, and improve the work of channel specialists, even without owning execution yourself.

Nice to have

  • Experience marketing in Canada or another market with strong newcomer/immigrant customer segments.
  • Experience in FinTech or another regulated industry.
  • French-language business proficiency.

Additional Information

  • Workplace Model: This is a hybrid role requiring office presence (at least 3 days); it is not a fully remote position. During your first 3 months in the role, you will be expected to be 100% in the office.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
