General Description
The Referral Coordinator will support diverse accounts, primarily focused on referral prescription review. This individual will help ensure success for our customers by reviewing referral prescriptions in the customer’s EMR, improving EMR documentation efforts, and establishing relationships with providers in the service areas of our customers.
The role will also be responsible for reconciling outstanding prescription requests, handling escalated pharmacy, and auditing claims as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with customers by ensuring that all relevant prescription documentation is accurate and stored in the customer’s EMR, as it relates to the Covered Entities’ Policy and Procedures.
Perform prescription validation on the customer’s behalf.
Navigate customer EMR and TPA platforms.
Collaborate with team members on referral prescription validation workflows and training materials.
Communicate and report on account activity and operational progress.
Develop, update, and maintain internal tracking related to program goals.
Maintain the confidentiality of client and program information.
Assist team with daily job assignments and tasks.
Assist in monitoring and tracking pharmacy fulfillment performance across pharmacies.
Assist in ensuring continuous improvement opportunities between Equiscript and all pharmacy partners.
Assist with auditing processes for newly hired representatives to ensure training was adequate and they fully understand all steps.
Professional Qualities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detailed and accurate documentation in patient and client accounts.
Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy.
Understanding of medical and pharmacy terminology and medications and the ability to pronounce drugs names and explain information.
Understanding of Covered Entities’ Policy and Procedures
A meticulous, problem-solving multi-tasker, who is driven by deadlines and can work independently after training.
Aptitude for computers and the ability to work comfortably in a phone and computer-based environment.
Provide feedback and ideas/strategies to improve performance for pharmacy relations.
Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) required.
Must have at least 2 years of 340B experience at a Covered Entity or TPA.
2-3 years Medical Practice or Pharmacy Experience with Customer Service Skills.
Practical Understanding of Medical Terminology and Medications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Apps, email, and internet use.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, occasional stooping, and reaching; May require lifting up to 25 pounds; requires a normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
Additional Information
A cleared background check is required.
Have the physical ability to work full-time in a phone-based office environment.
