About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer (IC 2) to join Dispel’s Engineering team. In this role, you’ll work semi-independently on small projects, leveraging your familiarity with Agile practices and deep product knowledge to ensure the highest quality for our secure communication platform. You’ll focus on manual testing, writing thorough test cases, creating clear defect reports, and providing detailed feedback to support cross-team collaboration while suggesting process improvements.
- Execute manual tests, log bugs, and validate fixes with a strong emphasis on thorough testing practices.
- Write detailed and comprehensive test cases to ensure robust product quality.
- Create clear and concise test plans and defect reports, following guided routine testing tasks.
- Suggest process improvements to address recurring problems and enhance QA efficiency.
- Provide detailed feedback in defect reports to support cross-team collaboration.
- Collaborate with developers and QA team members to manage defect tracking and resolve issues.

- Experience suggesting process improvements to solve recurring QA challenges.
- Some experience with automation testing (e.g., Tuskr, Selenium, JavaScript, or similar).
- Familiarity with Agile practices and manual testing methodologies.
- Deep product knowledge of one or two verticals, with the ability to handle standard routine procedures.
- Strong ability to write thorough and detailed test cases for manual testing.
- Knowledge of test design, execution, and reporting, as well as general product and QA processes.
- Experience creating clear and concise test plans and defect reports with detailed notes.
- Ability to follow guided routine testing tasks and manage defect tracking effectively.
- Experience providing detailed feedback in defect reports and supporting cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work semi-independently on small projects with limited supervision.
This position is an IC 2 at Dispel, and qualifies for:

The U.S. base pay range for this position is between $57,000 and $72,000/year with an expected Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) between $5,000 and $7,500/year (including bonus or commission). Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
