Description

We are seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Quality Assurance Engineer with strong automation testing skills and experience in testing applications developed in PHP. The ideal candidate will be proficient in building robust automation tests using Playwright (or similar frameworks), with a growing interest or experience in leveraging AI to enhance testing strategies. This role is key to ensuring software quality and reliability through a mix of manual and automated testing, strategic test planning, and the application of modern testing methodologies. Candidates must demonstrate excellent time management, adaptability, the ability and willingness to speak up and embrace a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and test strategies.
  • Design comprehensive and structured test plans, test cases, and test data derived from user stories and functional specifications.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright to validate web application functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Explore and apply AI tools and techniques to optimize test coverage, predict defects, and streamline testing workflows.
  • Implement automated regression tests to support stable and continuous delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Conduct manual and exploratory testing when needed, particularly for complex or high-impact scenarios.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using tools such as JIRA and XRay, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, automation frameworks, and toolsets.
  • Maintain detailed test documentation, including test execution reports, defect logs, and release validation records.
Requirements
  • U.S.: Must be a US based resident, ideally located in an Eastern timezone or willing to work those hours.
  • Background Check: Willing to submit to a rigorous background check in advance of employment,  including verification of references, employment history with previous employers, GitHub Repository Review and confirmation of LinkedIn profile information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer with a focus on automation testing.
  • Strong proficiency in using Playwright or Selenium for test automation.
  • Hands-on experience testing web applications built with PHP; familiarity with frameworks like Laravel or CakePHP is a plus.
  • Understanding of AI-driven QA tools, machine learning concepts, or automated test generation using AI is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test lifecycle, and defect management processes.
  • Experience working in Agile development teams and CI/CD environments.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Growth mindset, openness to feedback, and a continuous learning attitude.
  • Unafraid to challenge the status quo
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in performance and/or security testing tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • ISTQB or similar software testing certification is a plus.
  • Certified Scrum Master, or similar, qualification would be an advantage

If you are passionate about automation, excited by the potential of AI in QA, and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, we invite you to apply. Be part of a team that is committed to delivering exceptional software quality and creating meaningful solutions for our users.
