The Provider Optimization Specialist enhances providers' proficiency in using the Epic EHR system through education, support, and collaboration, ensuring efficient clinical operations.

Atrius Health and Reliant Medical Group, part of Optum Massachussetts, is seeking a part-time, (8 hours/week) Provider Optimization Specialist to support our Same Day Services division.
The Provider Optimization Specialist for Optum Massachusetts provides education and support to providers and care teams across Optum Massachusetts to improve their proficiency and efficiency in the utilization of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Collaborates and coordinates with members of the Epic and other relevant IT Teams across Massachusetts to assess and address the Medical Groups' Epic clinical needs and objectives. Participates in Epic team meetings as required. Assists in the design, testing and modification of the system in an effort of continuous process improvement. Utilizes usage data to determine the most appropriate intervention to assist providers who are struggling to effectively use the EHR.
Position Highlights:
* Provides 1:1 "at-the-elbow" support to practicing physicians, advanced practitioners, and other providers.
* Co-leads a monthly in-person EPIC troubleshooting course for providers.
* Provides regular updates and documentation regarding progress with individual providers.
* Along with Director of Provider Optimization and other members of the Provider Optimization Team supervises, teaches, and guides Provider Superusers.
* Partners and collaborates with the Epic Optimization Team (non-provider).
* Identifies system issues that arise in the application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and works with them to resolve the issues.
* Willingness to travel to the various clinical sites to provide in-person optimization.
* Regularly reviews the Epic help desk queue support log with clinical team members and provides guidance as needed.
* Re-directs questions and enhancement requests to appropriate team members as needed.
* Broad understanding of the clinical and operational workflows and able to support the clinical aspects of Epic for the users.
* Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
* Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc. (i.e. Epic UGM/XGM, Epic User Web content, Power User classes, Physician Builder certification).
* Attends and presents at a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
* Supervises group of exempt staff; Oversees and develops staff (including managers) by directing daily operations, managing hiring and performance, resolving employee issues, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
* Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
* Able to obtain Unlimited Licensure in the state of Massachusetts
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
* Strong familiarity and comfort using Epic.
* Knowledge of value-based healthcare with the ability to develop and apply system solutions to operational requirements.
* Active DEA License
* BLS & ACLS
