The role of Senior Project Manager is a key driver of the success of cross-functional business and technology programs within Indigo. This individual is responsible for building a team, creating a plan, driving the execution of that plan, and clearly communicating progress of the programs and projects they manage. This role requires a combination of demonstrated experience in managing applicable cross-functional programs along with the aptitude, attitude, and energy to drive forward progress in an environment with many competing priorities. This position will report to the Head of Business Program Management and will work closely with people from virtually every part of the Indigo organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish rapport with key stakeholders across relevant functions including:
    • Finance
    • Supply Chain
    • Commercial
    • IT
    • Product Management
    • Software Engineering
  • Take over program management responsibilities for one large cross-functional program
    • Create and maintain project plan
    • Establish consistent and effective project communications with project stakeholders
    • Drive day-to-day project execution through a cross-functional group of project team members and stakeholders across multiple workstreams
  • Hire and direct the work of team members (full-time or contractor) within the Business Program Management team
  • Independently manage and seamlessly integrate assigned projects into overall business and technology roadmaps as appropriate
  • Actively support the build out of the Indigo Business Program Management function through
    • Contributions to our project management methodology, processes, and procedures
    • Enhancements to standard deliverable templates including project plan templates, communication plans, status reports
    • Recommendations and implementation of tools for centrally tracking and managing programs, projects, and tasks
  • Establish relationships with leaders from across multiple Indigo functions and be sought out to help in other areas of the business, ultimately taking on responsibility for managing additional programs and projects.

  • Able to manage a program consisting of multiple projects involving stakeholders and resources from multiple departments
  • Thinks not only in terms of highlighting issues but also in terms of identifying and implementing solutions
  • Proactive in engaging the appropriate teams / resources for a given activity – and aware of which teams / resources are not required (e.g., those that can be informed at a later date)
  • Understands the handoff between project / program management and other resources and stakeholders within a project (i.e., knows when to own a task vs. when to assign to someone else on the team)
  • Flexible mindset, able to remain composed amidst stressful situations
  • Driven, self-starter with exceptional organizational skills
  • Clear, concise, and direct communication style; able to “call to action”
  • Able to be an “owner” for all processes created; takes pride in their work and deliverables
  • Able to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Able to identify and manage complex interdependencies between tasks
  • Able to influence team members and stakeholders without direct management authority

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in cross-functional project and program management or other relevant technology experience (e.g. business analysis, development, engineering)
  • Well-rounded experience across different technologies (Cloud technologies, Custom web / app development, ERP systems, CRM systems, financial systems, LIMS, etc.)
  • Well-rounded experience across different business functions (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, finance & accounting, commercial / sales & marketing, sales operations, etc.)
  • Experience in projects that deliver technology systems to drive operational efficiencies a plus
  • Experience managing projects that combine technology and business process workstreams required
  • Experience managing programs and projects involving organizational change management a plus
  • Experience managing agile software development projects a plus
  • Experience capturing and developing use cases, requirements, and UAT processes for technology systems
  • Scrum master certification or PMP certification nice to have
  • Ag or food production industry experience a plus
  • Willing to be based in Boston (we will pay for relocation), with occasional travel required

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
